Basically this. First season was really good, second season was a bit weaker but still had the only time Takumi really loses and the 86 upgrade were pretty great. After Project D starts the series gets formulaic with the occasional moment (e.g. the first time he uses Blind attack). The eurobeat is still nice though.

If I had to watch it again I'd probably stop after S2.
