What are some kino deaths in manga/anime? I felt like Ouki's death was just perfect although it was so cliche. It just felt completely natural and not forced as fuck at all and the whole thing with Shin made it really impactful, damn.

That was the highest point of the manga of what I've read 200 or so chapters in at the moment. After that, I've kind of become disappointed with the lack of development with Shin since then, as he aged four years and still acts as a Narshito-type protagonist rather than being the general executing maneuvers and not falling for stupid traps.
Does any of this change later on?

Wait until you get to the Coalition War arc, that's where all shit will break loose, if you're around ch 200 keep reading, this arc starts around ch 250. If this arc doesn't impress you you may drop Kingdom and stop wasting your time.
As for Shin he's just that type of guy. He's clearly not the intellectual fighter, he just rushes into fights without thinking much about consequences. Even much more later on during bigger timeskips (atm in caught up manga he's 22 years old) he still rages at higher generals and acts retared.

sounds bad, I loved the first 100 chapters but I've been having to push myself recently with how dumb the war plots are. Specifically the introduction of strategists that just state the obvious and do the obvious (attack with more men, set up cavalry traps to destroy cavalry) Their only purpose seems to be making any general look like an idiot. Also, does Shin fuck the Ninja or Mountain girl at any point?

>does Shin fuck the Ninja or Mountain girl at any point?
Sadly no, so far there's very little romance involving Shin and any of the girls. Those 2 are interested in him, but he views Mountain girl as his little sister and Ninja girl as just a friend.
Considering that the author said he plans to follow history as much as he can, I don't really know what was the relationship status of Shin's original historical character so dunno what will he do in this part.
But I like it like this.

Pretty much the entire Shigurui and all the deaths, especially the final chapter.

Usually I would rage when a good character is introduced and then dies before accomplishing much, but I think Ouki's death was really well done.

I've been told historical Shinmarries more than one woman at oncebut that might be bullshit.
