I don't think it fits One Piece as a whole. If anything, it could be applied to smaller arcs, like maybe Chopper joining, but only very vaguely. I honestly have no clear idea on what to expect, the situation is looking pretty damn grim, doubly so if Big Mom doesn't give Bege a chance to stall for time and just keeps hammering into him. However, one thing I do expect in some form is for Sanji, Judge and Luffy all to have a major part to play in the events to come.

Luffy for obvious reasons, he's the main character, the most brash and he's watching Bege get killed right before his eyes. He'll have something to say to Big Mom that could buy the alliance some time.

Judge and Sanji though, the reason I think they'll have something to do this chapter lies in their seeming demeanor whilst in Bege. They both appeared to be in deep thought and both have major stakes in what's going on current for additional personal reasons over just survival. The hell parallels for Sanji in particular stood out, given how he mentioned that to Pudding during his surrender to the situation. As for Judge, I could see him mobilizing the rest of his forces to come to his aid, which likely won't be immediate, but will be able to reach their location eventually, given the snail ship's ability to climb structures with ease.

I think I'll finally start reading the manga.

When I was a kid I watched the 4kids dub and when that stopped ruining everything I stuck with the funimation dub because I couldn't, and still can't deal with the Jap voices, mostly Luffy's old lady nails on a chalkboard voice. I'm tired of waiting for new episodes though and I just got to the time skip so now is as good a time as any.

My biggest issue with this theory, the idea that some third party player would come in and look for a fight, is that the assassination plan and Luffy's actions in WCI would not be readily known information. So, these outside sources would be choosing to directly assault a Yonko's main territory during a time when all their strongest members are present and on high alert, in additon to numerous underworld individuals who were invited to the tea party. This all being in Big Mom's own territory, a territory with extensive guard systems designed to provide both early warning and obstructions to any forces looking to attack.

Simply put, it makes no sense for a third party to choose now to attack. It's quite possibly the worst time to ever choose to attack the main isle of Tottoland, the outside areas less so, but again all of Big Mom's strongest crew members are expected to be present and within close proximity of those islands, they'd be able to reinforce very quickly, so what's there to really gain? Bugger all.

I think some unplanned variable is going to have to come into play soon, to alter the current situation enough to provide the alliance an opportunity to solve their current situation.

How would non-fishman enemies make use of such a weakness in a regular fight to a sufficient enough extent for it to actually matter? In the Cracker situation, Nami and Luffy together are monstrous counters to his ability, given that Nami seemingly has no limit of the amount of rain she can spawn and Luffy both being able to punch through the weakened biscuit soldiers or eat them.
