Kubo has a great understanding of actual minimalism outside of the "Backgrounds" meme and makes great usage of composition and positioning in both character in relation to panel and the way characters themselves are posed.

His style is also very distinctive and easy on the eyes.
If he had a writer to bring his ideas to life, he would have had a much better go of it as long as the relationship was good.

he was able to create cool moments and from what i understand arrancar's pacing was fucked up by his editors. Bleach had some really fun parts, like firt Gin meeting, Grimmjow's 2nd fight with Ichigo etc., too bad about plot armor for the good guys. In short, there was potential there, but it was mostly wasted

The ending to bleach was fucking gold, I love getting my friend angry over how much Ichigo got cucked.
