We literally did not get a single good animation sequence. For fags saying "it's cliche but has good animation" out there. What part are you talking about? The opening show that reuses frames from the movies?

Not a single witch battle. Not a single creature/dragon menace. Not a single decent action sequence. Not even a climax we've had. Things only sorta happened.

There's no defense against it. LWA was 5/10 at the best. Only shippers and /u/ tards would think otherwise.

sucy, amanda and constanze had decent episodes dedicated to them but lotte was overall just as forgettable as she was in the ovas . jasminka is literally just there so who cares about her.

diana and chariot were decent, should be expected since they were the most important characters besides akko.


trigger never convinced me andrew was really necessary for the story, if all they wanted was just making the token guy cast member then they succeeded in that regard i guess

the first cour being little slice of life academia was pretty hit and miss, but it had some of my favorite episodes, it got stronger once it got a plot. imo

croix had saturday morning cartoon tier villain motivations but at least her design was cool.

overall not a bad show, has that trigger touch where it isn't great but it doesn't suck and is overall a good watch

still need to watch the episode with woodwards skeleton dad, skipped it and never bothered

Not as good as the Dragon in the first OVA, though. You didn't feel the danger. Probably because everything was midair, while the dragon got to destroy half the tower and Akko got so close to it. The cubedragon/rocket-whatever felt more like a mid-season boss instead of the show's great finale.

I can't help but feel that the way they handled the 9 old witches and especially the 7 words aspect ruined the show. One anon said it best, the finale feels like a great ending to a show we never got. Yeah there's these 9 girls who got together to save the world who's like the new 9 witches and the finale feels really touching but it wasn't built up. And the 7 words quest structured the show where the MC gets these words of wisdom and it happens over and over again that somewhere in the middle, it starts to feel weak but mandatory since gotta collect them all.

The length of LWA ended up hurting its pacing a lot, with Akko being a terrible main character. A lot of episodes were pointless until the second half of the series.

I just think that if I'd ever recommend someone the series, I'd have to tell that person to skip a bunch of episodes, which is very silly for a 25 episode anime.

So I pretty much agree with everyone else here: I liked it, but the flaws and story issues only make it an OK show.

I don't know about the rest of you though, but I would be 100% for a second season. LWA, to me, is the kind of show that would only benefit from continuing on. Setting wise it has more potential, and now with the World magic restored they can clearly do more.
