I think Shield Hero is like 5 tiers closer to the realms of acceptable adult writing than Death March is. Death March reads like every other shitty isekai except the art is halfway decent. And that's how a lot of these things work. If GunOta didn't have such abhorrent art, it'd probably be more popular here than Death March.

At least Shield Hero has a basic weak-strong progression.
All these isekai start those niggers off at lvl. 99+, which would only be acceptable if they could properly world build and populate said world with deep and meaningful characters, but they never can.
I mean there are plenty of legitimate manga series where the main character is god levels of op, yet they can still make the manga interesting. Of the top of my head Majin Tantei Neuro Nougami or that Kurosensei (though I never finished that one because the character design bothered me) by the same author fits the bill.
