Hata's wild ride came crashing down after he realized he wasn't able to make anything better than TEoTW arc and should have left it for the last. He tried to cash in the idol craze of the early 2010s resulting in doujin Namek. After that he realized he had derailed Hayate so much from his original intention into a SoL that any attempt to go back on track would result into a fucking disaster.

And it didn't stop him from trying anyways. The ending was a disaster, so he's probably trying to explain a plot point that he tried to put on his manga before he realized he was a talentless hack.

Who knows. All we know now is that Hata did plan for the Maria arc, except that unlike what the Maria fags hope, it won't end have her ending up with Hayate. Basically, the original Maria arc was meant to reveal that she's Hayate's older sister from a different mother, got abandoned by Hayate's parents and her full name is Ayasaki Maria.

Man the Maria/A-tan/Hinagiku three-way cluster fuck as a finale would have been glorious if it happened literally years ago.

At least in Negima, Negi ended with someone he had lots of emotional development during the MW arc, he's spending his afterlife with Nodoka and Yue, and also Asuna and Eva are doing their best to save him.
