I know this will upset many of you and is probably completely against the generally accepted "culture" of /a/ OPT threads, but this wouldn't be a problem in the first place if the workings of these threads was in any way logical and goal-leading. They try a single google search and when they doesn't work they try nothing else and come here and say that nothing works. They ask for source on manga that have thread after thread filled with chapter dumps and discussion. They ask for source on manga by authors who have instantly recognizable styles.

OPT threads aren't about "baiting new people to /a/". They're about anons posting pages from manga they like. It's not like we go to other boards to bring them here. If new people want to come here then that's fine, but take a look around first to get an idea of what the board is like before you go whining for source. This is also the impression I had gotten and figured that must have been the case (even if I'm relatively new to /a/), because otherwise I couldn't explain to myself the logical disconnect between creating these kind of threads, that on the surface seem like "share something interesting"-threads, combined with the seemingly completely backwards rules of "don't tell what it is that you just shared".

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it this way, but I know expressing this kind of opinion is swimming upstream and will be met with cynical people who assume people of differing opinions to be dumb or lazy.
