after that absolute shit show that was 3.0 and fansevice 2.0 I hope the new series is completely abandoned. 1.0 was very nice as it was pretty much NGE with graphics update.
I'd be ok if they changed the story from NGE but what they did was just awful

don't get me wrong, I've been on team rei since I was 13, 10 years later and I still am.
but 2.0 was concentrated fanservice; mari, shonen shinji, they even changed gendo's entire motive just to fit in with rei/shinji.
I'd rather have rei/shinji to happen despite gendo, not because of him.
anyway after reading the manga I can't really go back to the animes because of how annoying anime shinji is compared to manga shinji.
