You know, I would actually be happier with a bunch of higher quality stills, full animation for a few key parts, and then more higher quality stills, all with voice/sfx.

But we should also remember that these "good" directors seems to mostly pick series they like. And since there aren't that many anime like Berserk, it makes me think that most guys in the anime industry simply don't like Berserk. Simple as that.
Now, one director who I'm almost sure that loves Berserk is Tetsurou Araki. He directed a lot of "edgy" anime, and in Kabaneri he slip in a few Berserk ideas/references (which fell kinda flat because a 12 episodes series doesn't have enough time to build up what he seemed to be trying).
I hope that one day we might have a Berserk anime made by WIT.

Are you fucking kidding? It was complete shit. First movie literally skimmed through Guts entire childhood through a fevered dream. Second movie was rushed shit with even more shitty CGI. The only memorable scene was the royal gala. They even skipped all the court intrigue which was one of the best things about the Golden Age arc. The third movie was the best of the three but it was obvious every ounce of their effort and budget went into the eclipse. The rest was shit.

Yes they skipped alot but the music, animation and direction was top notch. The CG wasn't that bad either save for a few scenes and was actually good in arc 3. It wasn't a faithful adaptation true, it was more like a good advertisement for the manga.
