should i watch evangelion for the first time ever in subs or dubs?

Dubs are fine. Both versions will leave you in the same state of wtf.

A lot of people like the dub but I really can't imagine why; Spike Spiegel has a horribly grating voice. I'd say watch the first ep dubbed and if you can take it, just continue that way.

Japanese dub heavily outclasses the english one. Fist time I watched the show dubbed, second time subbed and now the dub sounds terrible.
