I mean, it makes sense from a storytelling perspective. It's pretty clear that Kirishima's going to be cooking up something new in this fight, and that whatever it is is going to be building off of Unbreakable. Since you only have so many scenes to work with, either you have him bust out Unbreakable for the first time in this fight and then it immediately gets broken, you make this fight about Unbreakable and wait on whatever he's going to get now, or you have him reveal Unbreakable against a mook and then have it broken by a real threat.
