As someone who is not interested in shipping anything in this show, I find the concept of Andrew actually good, him being the muggle point of view is actually interesting if done right, kinda like a very low key isekai protagonist trying to understand the world he's being presented. I don't know, I think I agree with that anon, his contribution to the show is so minimal it doesn't really seem worth the effort of trying to shoehorn him in. He only had any actual development in episodes 6 and 10, (and likely in the finale when he'll vouch for Akko and/or betray his father for her sake), and that wasn't really all that much of a development either.

His other appearances have just felt like excuses to have him make continued appearances. I mean, what kind of storyline is "Akko forgot her hat so Andrew brought it to her but then she forgot it again so he'll have to bring it to her again"?
