Not at all. The only time she had even a vaguely "caucasian body" was pic related.

She looks Japanese as well as 90% of every other character she deals with/works with. If that didn't drive it home:

- the name; Motoko Kusanagi? Aramaki? Ishikawa? Azuma? Totally white, right?
- the fact that she works in an exclusively Japanese section
- and the fact that they make it a point in the show to mention when someone is foreign or show it

would do it.

Also stop bringing up this dumb topic. She's Japanese, live action anime 9 times out of 10 sucks, and Scarlet Johannson is ugly as hell.

No, most anime take place in Japan therefore the characters are Japanese by default

The Majors appearance is not important to her character, she could have been played by a short black man without it changing anything about her personality or anything about the story, beside that Batou is now gay

They absolutely do. Its the same thing with all art though, the best parts are going to be picked out and drawn together. The looks combined with the name drive it home that they are a certain race.
Now, if your eyes don't work, thats on you - but she is Japanese as are the vast majority of the other characters and no amount of whining on your side is going to change that. Sorry for you.

Yeah, Shinji, Gendo, and Misato are all white, that makes sense.

I forgot to mention is Edward really Japanese? He must be. He's played by a Japanese actor in the live action movie. As are most other characters.

Anime Major is definitely east asian.

There is an episode, Angle's Share, where the Major is in England. You see her in profile and an english woman in profile. They have have different skull shapes and skin tones.
