I was rereading early JJL recently and it's not just the firstborn son who is affected, but the firstborn child, male OR female. The family was always succeeded by the first son born after the firstborn died until Norisuke, his mother was the first to do an equivalent exchange to spare her child. So everything has to remain the same or else he has to face his demons rather than run from them.

The manga doesn't really tie it together for you and just ends unlike prior Parts, and leaves you to piece it together yourself.

Rereading early JJL in colour for the novelty, and as of the latest chapter I really do think that Holly and Kira were onto something regarding the group who want to develop the Rokakaka into technology and sell it. In his battle with Damo, Kira even shouted about how he was going to kill all of Damo's group and take all of the Rokakaka from them. It was in the heat of the moment but it seemed kind of odd given how his stated goal was to just get the one or two branches and get away with them, but he might actually have had another motive in trying to get complete control over the Rokakaka trade.

In terms of adaptations, Part 4 > Part 2 > Part 3 > Part 1, I still genuinely think the part 5 anime will be the best one yet.

This is more of a person-by-person thing. I grew up playing tonnes of shooters and around 2006 I was hardcore in my weeb phase. Stumbled upon some touhou 06 gameplay and thought I'd try it. I liked the music, the game (Considering I was only used to western gradius clones at the time) was very fresh.
I ended up being drawn to the characters, the world and as ZUN started getting more specific to certain bits of mythology then it kept me going because I ended up reading what the actual people are based on. One of the reasons why I like Miko for was because I got real into reading the Taoist/Buddhist fights and such.
The doujin circles/fanworks/art all keep it ticking up and you are never short of content and such. When it started taking itself more seriously in the mangas like the two Moon-based ones, I was a little bit older and ended up liking it for that.

Touhou 13. ZUN made it for Noobies.
Lore wise?
Unlike Jojo, it's okay to skip 1-5 . You aren't missing that much and it's separate outside of 1 or 2 characters.
Touhou 6 is the start of the windows era and has the groundwork for most of the major characters that show up later. I suppose you could wikifag it if you don't want to play it. I'm pretty chill about wiki people because I understand that Sakuya's Dio Brando antics can get frustrating for newer players.
One you got a grip on the world/rules read the mangas. The Wiki has them all in orders, they're all in English and very enjoyable.They expand on the spell card rules and each one on a different part of the world. But you need to know touhou 8 to understand the moon manga and such.

As cool as it would be to end the first episode on Buccellati giving Giorno the ol' lickeroo, I doubt they'd do 4 chapters in the first episode given they've done only 3 chapters in each first episode sans Part 1, and the first 3 chapters of Part 5 are a couple of pages longer than normal. But the way you've done it otherwise is identical to mine actually.

It's pretty accurate, though Part 1 and 4 in the anime are really rushed and Part 3 is really dragged out. The manga is still way better than the anime but the anime isn't bad by any means, just paced badly in places and really fucking cheaply made.

Honestly they shouldn't adapt Part 5 1 to 1 because that will significantly slow down the pacing and would make fights slow - we don't need every bit of dialogue
