Oh crap, is it 1983?

I've wanted to watch this since way back when but never got around to it. I know it's based on a vn but do I have to watch all of the animated series or just the first one?

I didn't see you at the festival anon. Is everything okay nano desu?
>>158713458
Why would you watch the anime when you could read the VN?
>>158713799
Because the VN has a really good start, which makes the last two installments all that much more disappointing.
>>158713799
I suppose getting to see the animated flipout scene with the chair is what does it for me.
Who was best girl?
Pic related.

>>158713846
The reveal amazing and the XYZ solution is very well done.
Minagoroshi is the most loved chapter from what I hear. And I think Matsuribayashi is great as well.
And even if they were terrible they're going to be that much worse in the anime. Very bad advice.
>>158713869
You can watch that after. It's in the OVA. The point of the novel isn't random freakouts and gore, it's about the emotions and thoughts that go behind them, and unraveling the mystery.

The reveal in Minagoroshi was great, but it didn't make up for most of it being a repetitive slog.
On the other hand, outside of flipping through the shards to find available ones, Matsuribayashi is mostly interesting, but the ending is just miracles.
>>158713964
I'll be fine if I watch the anime then? I do sometimes find it amusing I'm finally watching all sorts of things I didn't get around to from years ago, but admittedly Higurashi got mentioned often in the same sentence as Elfen Lied.

Please just read the VN.
The anime isn't a very good adaption that focuses in too much on gore.
When the story is about the mystery and the horror of the unknown, and the feeling of betrayal.
>>158714379
The anime skims over the actual theme of series, which gives a big mood whiplash in the second season.

>the ending is just miracles.
That's what I really love about the ending.
Miracles are when something impossible is accomplished. How does one acomplish the impossible?
Rika thought at first that given enough rolls of the dice "probability" would lead to something considered impossible.
But someone with a strong will can win over possibility. That's the secret of the miracle, the will to win.

According to Umineko, Miracles are possible as long as probability allows it. That's exactly what Lambdadelta and Bernkastel represent. Even Lambda says it at some point: even if there's a 99.99% of probability, as long as there's at least 0.01% there is a chance for a miracle.
Also, miracles are just things that happen despite the low probability, not against a nonexistent probability. And that doesn't necessarily mean they're good news. Umineko Prime is all about this.
In some sense, Umineko is great because it actively defies everything Higurashi established, providing a more depressing but also down-to-earth reflections on Higurashi's lessons.
>>158716878
>Umineko is great because it actively defies everything Higurashi established, providing a more depressing but also down-to-earth reflections on Higurashi's lessons.
You serious? The final answer was "just deny all truth and enable your stupid miracle delusions until bro somehow comes back 60 years later".
Higurashi was about actually solving problems rather than denying they happened at all.
>>158717081
To be fair, Higurashi was all about believing in your friends and miracles will happen! While Umineko says fuck that all your relatives are dead also you don't have a dick
>>158717130
They didn't just believe, they gathered a bunch of people and took every opportunity they had. Sure they were lucky, but they had to earn it.
>>158717130
Wasn't Higurashi more about trust and communication?
And the Miracles are about having as much people gather together to create a miracle, at which point stuff becomes more and more feasible.
>>158716878
I know that much.
Miracles are generally thought of as making the impossible into possible. Rika's philosophy, as taught to her by Hanyuu is that everything is a matter of probability. A miracle will occur if you keep rolling the dice. This way of thinking is what leads to her despair, and what creates Bernkastel. Rika throws away that way of thinking for a more forceful way at the end, and it leads to her victory.
I don't think it actively defies anything in Higurashi. Bernkastel sees it as a matter of probability because she can actively go in and out of worlds at will and seek out the 000.1% chance world. Rika learned to do the same thing, seek out victory instead of waiting for it to occur. Except it has a different connotation because she's not a witch. She's a human that finds her ideal world. Bern is just cynical because she sees that for every good world there are 100 bad ones. Rika sees the same thing, but has a reason to seek out the good one and discard the bad ones.
The "miracles", they're just thought of and presented differently.
>>158717081
>deny all truth
The truth was that you have no truth.
You're the one denying the possibility that "someone might have survived" just because it's easier for you.
Because Ange knew nothing she had to have faith, either in Battler's death or Battler's life.
>>158717081
>>158717358
>The final answer was "just deny all truth and enable your stupid miracle delusions until bro somehow comes back 60 years later".
I agree what Battler was trying to do was stupid, but in all honestly, they were trying to protect Ange's memories of her family because in all truth, her life was already pretty shit. Finding out that her family were a bunch of horrible psychopaths wouldn't have helped her, much less do something productive for her present.
And remember, Ange didn't want the truth to gain resolution for her family's death. She wanted the truth to have a legitimate reason to hate Eva and validate her suffering. Battler tried to stop her to help her move on and live her life, She had the right to know, that's true. But people forget she wanted the truth for all the wrong reasons, and she herself broke down when it wasn't what she expected. Everyone told her it wasn't worth it and she should move on, but she wouldn't listen.
The message was never to ignore the truth, it was to not let the truth, no matter how horrible it is, to taint your happiness. Battler tried to show Ange that her family had good times despite all, and the truth shouldn't ruin her happy memories, much less her future.
Also the girl wanted to kill herself after all that shit for crying out loud. She really wasn't in her right mind during the whole thing, just full of resentment. Even Amakuza told her she was just looking to destroy herself with her quest.
>>158717130

We can observe the curvature of the Earth and make judgements based on that.
We can also make judgements on Battler's life or death based on Eva's testimony and the state of the island, the bottle message, etc.
But we don't have a body.
Now answer me this you shitty detective, why did you believe 100% without a doubt that Battler was dead? When you have two opposing "truths" you have to make a choice between the two. All that Ryukishi is saying is that when faced with two opposing truths, pick the one that will satisfy you. Like you just did, you picked "Battler is dead" because it satisfies your smug cynicism.

The probability we're all wrong in our observations of a round Earth isn't 0. So picking "the Earth is flat and everyone is lying" is a valid option according to Umineko despite being retarded.
Also, hoping that something as unlikely (realistically we're talking about, say, 0.001% chances) is true is probably the most destructive thing Ange could've done. Sure, keep hoping for your onii-chan to be alive and pray hard for the deus ex machina because your whole life will be miserable when he never shows up and you've invested all your energy in these stupid delusions.

Now you're putting words in their mouth. All they say is "draw your own conclusions and be VERY skeptical of what everyone else says". Battler said something similar in the whole cheese moon scene. This is also foreshadowing because it also relates to the whole media reaction to the murders, which drove Eva insane and ruined Ange's life. Papparazi are cruel. Ange's family not only is ruined financially, the media also ruined their image to the point they have to hide from the public all the time.
Don't take things out of context. The whole message of the truth was mostly related to Ange and her self-destructive tendencies. It was never implied that it was ok to make up shit to make you feel better and ignore the facts. Remember half the cast had shitty lives so it was a different case for everyone individually.

>How is Ange believing her brother is out there at all destructive. She becomes a storybook writer you absolute moron.
That's only because the story tells it so. "She BELIEVES so she stops being suicidal somehow even when nobody comes and she can see how stupid that is. She's able to retake control of her life despite basing it on fragile delusions and she doesn't lose herself in her delusions"
Which is, by the way, pretty much the state she was at her introduction, except her life was a fuckup because she spent her time talking to knives and the imagined spirit of a 9 years old autistic girl.
>It wasn't a delusion either because she ended up being right.
Only because the story told it so. That shit isn't happening without direct intervention from all-powerful author and amnesia plot device.

To be fair, she was trying to protect Ange. And is sort of admirable she didn't rub the whole truth in her face when Ange threw a bitch fit.
IIRC Nanjo's son also got harassed by the media even though there was no suspicion on him. They would have probably harassed Eva too even if there was nothing pointing out to her being the culprit.
The point is, it stopped being a tragedy involving the suffering of real people, but a game for anyone to play detective, further dehumanizing the whole thing. That is what drove Eva insane and its probably one of the reasons she didn't want to say anything, it'd be like throwing fuel to the fire. Further made worse that her own son and husband were involved and people were treating them as disposable toys for their theories.

>And then they dedicate 20 hours to show how Ange is wrong for finding out the truth because that makes her suicidal
Yes? If keeping the truth (that she only wants to destroy herself further) away from her keeps her alive then it's obviously the correct choice? It's fucked up to show something to someone that will only destroy them. Ange didn't need to see any of that, but she chose to because she wanted to sink deeper into her own suffering. Battler obviously didn't want that to happen.
Beatrice's magic was to not let the truth ruin her life. That's all. By the time she chooses that option she already knows the truth, so there's no point in ignoring it. She's just choosing to not let that ruin her happy memories of her family. In other words, not deciding her life was shit all along and she's doomed to endless pain because she grew up with a bunch of psychopaths (despite the fact that some of them, like Eva or Maria, genuinely loved her).
>there's also "draw your own pragmatical conclusions" but it apparently turns you into a schizophrenic crazy intellectual rapist.
She chooses to use her own pain to spite on other people and find truths that only satisfy her own cynicism, just like Erika. That's not a happy end at all.

Nah man, the whole message was to not ruin other people's lives over shit that is not your business to begin with. The people weren't just "interested". They harassed her. Like, really bad. That's over the line, and that's what the story portrays as wrong.
Sadly, this is a real thing that happens to real life people when the public doesn't know where to draw the line. Maybe R07 tried to address that problem.

>If keeping the truth (that she only wants to destroy herself further) away from her keeps her alive then it's obviously the correct choice?
If the only choice is "you either agree with MAGIC or you'll kill yourself" then there's no dilemma or point to be made. It's "agree with me or you die because the story says so".
Keep in mind that the magic road is just as destructive if not more. "Magic" broke her life for 15 years, and that's only a beginning. She'd probably end up depressed, mentally ill and eventually kill herself. Well it's not a given but I wouldn't say it's much more unlikely than Ange killing herself after leaning the truth.
Also you have to chose between MAGIC and TRICK. Not "Ange not killing herself because of that", MAGIC, the thing that got the Ushiromiya killed.
>She chooses to use her own pain to spite on other people and find truths that only satisfy her own cynicism, just like Erika
Because the story told so. You can't chose "pragmatic conclusion" without becoming an intellectual rapist. Nice strawman, Ryukishi.

>If the only choice is "you either agree with MAGIC or you'll kill yourself" then there's no dilemma or point to be made.
Anon you seriously weren't paying attention if you think Ange was only going to kill herself all of a sudden. Since her character was introduced it was stated to hell and back that she was suicidal and depressed, and that learning the truth was the only thing keeping her from doing it at once. It's not just because "the story says so", her whole character was building up to that since the beginning. If you didn't like that, then that's another thing. But that's the direction it was supposed to take from the start.
>"Magic" broke her life for 15 years, and that's only a beginning.
That depends on what you're referring to. On one side, Bernkastel was the one who convinced her to reject Eva and all chances to make a family with her, and seeking happiness.
But on the other, it was Maria and the Seven Stakes who kept her company and helped her go through her hardest times when she was being bullied at school. In fact, the moment Ange rejects Maria and the Stakes, it's the moment she breaks down and succumbs to the pain and cynicism.
Magic was shown to be capable of giving both pain and happiness. This was a point of Maria's character and how she used magic to make her shit life better, or become wicked and sink deeper into her pain (like in the scene where she tortures Rosa in her mind).
So in the ending's case, it was magic=good and trick=bad because of the things they represented at the moment. The magic at that time represented Ange moving on and seeking happiness, while Trick was Ange becoming wicked and cynical. But it was never stated that magic was entirely bad or good, it depends on who's using it.

>And we cannot trick ourselves into thinking of each other as replacements for our lost family.
>Even so, I think of you as my own child.
>So if you......could allow that, then I'd like you to think of me as your mother, and I want you to rely on me for whatever you need.
Eva never told her that she was replacing her mother. She told her they would be like a family and rely on each other.
> That'd be like spitting on your real mother's grave.
Funny thing is, that's exactly what Bern wanted Ange to think.
>"If you wish, from the bottom of your heart, for your real mother to return......then you musn't give the position of mother away to somebody else so easily. If your real mother loses her position as your mother, then she will never come back home."
>"......Okay? For your real mother's sake, this is important, right...?"
>"Ye, ......yes, Witch-sama. ......Eva oba-san is Eva oba-san. I will certainly never call her Mom. I won't think of her as Mom."
She tricked Ange into rejecting someone who wholeheartedly wanted to help her with that line of thinking. And also, it was said many times there was never any evidence pointing to Eva being the culprit. The media made it up because of Tohya's theory released on the internet, and because they wanted someone to blame, despite the lack of evidence.
>Maybe they wouldn't if the case didn't get so much attention if the police could solve it and the main suspect didn't go "i'm not telling :^)"

>On one side, Bernkastel was the one who convinced her to reject Eva and all chances to make a family with her
That's just using Bern as a living scapegoat when realistically nobody would (should) have accepted Eva.
>it was Maria and the Seven Stakes who kept her company and helped her go through her hardest times when she was being bullied at school.
She kept talking to herself instead of socializing with people and taking her responsabilities in school. This made people dislike her and they had all rights to criticize her, that only became bullying because everyone on Earth apparently has to bully Ange with Rokkenjima and nobody seems to care about it. How convenient, this way the other girls are just bullies and the imaginary knives are just good girls trying to save Ange from the crippling loneliness. Thank you, magic.
But for real, every bad thing in this series is caused by magic.
Kinzo locking his daughter away from the world and raping her? Magic.
Yasu not going back to Battler or giving up on him? "He'll come back" magic.
Yasu making the game that causes the deaths? "I'm a witch teehee" magic.
Ange being a 20 years old autistic girl with 0 friends? "Muhria" magic.
The world's craze for the Rokkenjima case? Eva's magic.
It only helped Maria (a 7 years old girl) because she had a shitty mom and nothing to do by herself. But it's supposed to be the happy ending and the wise choice. That's broken as fuck.

This is fucked up no matter how you look at it. Goku would make a better parent.
>Funny thing is, that's exactly what Bern wanted Ange to think.
Nice scapegoat. She's right though. Befriending the number 1 suspect of the murder of your whole family including your parents is fucked up. Nobody would want their kid to do that.
>it was said many times there was never any evidence pointing to Eva being the culprit
Oh yeah. She just came back alone and never told anyone because she wasn't involved. Definitely to protect some girl's feelings (even though she doesn't give a shit about her and never did). Everyone else died and she became filthy rich because of that, but I'm sure it's just a coincidence.
If you take the accident theory, then Eva would have no reason not telling the cops.
If you take the murder theory, then it means Eva somehow was the last survivor and killed the murderer after everyone else died.
Yeah that works. Let's befriend Eva.
>>158720533
>I'll never tell you and I'm probably the one who killed everyone.
>Befriending the number 1 suspect of the murder of your whole family including your parents is fucked up.
Nobody cared if Eva was the culprit or not until the Eva culprit theory was released which drove people batshit to blame her. The police even dropped the investigation because they couldn't find anything to blame her either.
Ange never suspected Eva, either. She was willing to accept her until Bern came to shit on her, and her fixation came after Eva lost her shit and started to abuse her.
>Definitely to protect some girl's feelings (even though she doesn't give a shit about her and never did).
This is wrong. Ange was Eva's favorite niece and episode 8 showed this. It's logical that she wanted to protect her, specially after what her parents did.
>Everyone else died and she became filthy rich because of that,
Didn't you read right? They were broke. They were on the verge of bankruptcy before the murders and hit rock bottom after them. Eva only retained the money after she took over her husband's company and kept them afloat. In fact, Ange received some "compensation" money from Yasu sometime later, and rejected it. Eva never received something like that, and Ange knows it.
You have to admit that in the beginning, there was nothing pointing to Eva being the culprit. Ange didn't suspect her, and if it wasn't for Bern (and the Eva culprit theory) she would have accepted her. Her hatred for her and her fixation that Eva killed everyone is because Eva treated her like shit for having rejected her, not because she has any evidence that supports that she killed anyone, besides one theory that some anonymous author released on the internet, that later she confirmed has nothing to do with the real events.

EP8, as in the one crafted by Battler to paint everyone in a good light? Eva was never the type to think of other people if we believe any episode that isn't 8. Even discarding EP3, she bullies and fucks with people whenever she gets a chance.
Also, remember that the caring aunt Eva literally hired dozens of people to ensure Ange would never have a social life and told her beloved niece she felt like a horrible death was too nice for her. On her deathbed. Those were her last words to her.

The witches' tanabata also shows that Eva did indeed cared about Ange. If anything, it proves what Battler showed to Ange in episode 8.
>Also, remember that the caring aunt Eva literally hired dozens of people to ensure Ange would never have a social life and told her beloved niece she felt like a horrible death was too nice for her.
This all happened after Witches' Tanabata. Before that, she was kind and caring towards Ange. And in the same, it explains why she turned like that.
>She took over the Ushiromiya empire.
Which is... fucking nothing! They were all near bankruptcy, remember? Hideyoshi's fast food company was what saved them from losing everything. Even episode 3 epilogue says that they were indeed ruined after the murders. Eva gained nothing from them, and it was stated many times she was shown to break down during her son and husband's funerals.

Pretty sure that was the lesson. There are multiple truths depending on one's interpretation. Hence the trick or magic choice. Ange is a foil to Battler because unlike him she is incompetent at mysteries and wants to find the truth and has no problem blaming her family unlike battler who is the opposite. This is because to the end Battler knew and loved his family to the end and wanted to give this feeling to 6 year old Ange who never had the chance to learn about her family. Once she learnt it she decided that the truth wasn't as important and she didn't deny it. In fact she gained a new truth that she loved her family no matter how shitty it was. A truth that allowed her to move on rather than obsessing with her family's death and killing herself. Eva was shitty but what can you say when the girl's mother was shooting up her family.

Daisuke Ono for Battler was a complete miscast, though, since he can't scream for shit. Chiru handled some of the mysterious character voices in stupid ways too, such as giving the man from 19 years ago a really obvious Battler voice without even bothering to filter it (Lambdadelta or Kanon's voice run through the "L" voice filter would probably have been better), or having Yasu voiced by Beatrice even though Shannon or Kanon's voices would have been more appropriate for her childhood mindset.

What will the next WTC's themes be?
>>158749834
Living in the present.
Family or strangers.
>>158749773
Heh you probably wouldn't.
It's from the PSP mahjong game. Everytime you beat someone they get a punishment game fanservice scene.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4zLcctE6mg
>>158749977
I swear ryukishi's stuff always have the fucking best OPs and OSTs even if its some random spin off game.
Also, Umineko chess spin off when.
>>158750117
Would be slow but I'd love a game like that. The kind where your opponent berates you constantly until they're beaten.
Makes me wonder if the new WTC will inspire many spin off games.
I'd rather see a Higurashi version of this with built in cheating mechanics. Too bad Higurashi's not popular enough to warrant anymore spinoffs.
after-story when?
>>158750759
You mean Rei?
Higurashi ended in 2006. Let it die.
>>158751375
>2006
>>158753241
I meant the original VN, without counting the spin offs. That's what the wikipedia tells me at least.
>>158753371
That means F/SN also ended in 2004
>>158753398
Even so, what I said is right. It's not a good idea to keep trying to squeeze more profit from a dead series. It was good as it was, I don't need more.
>>158753501
Nah you're right, if only R07 continued WTC. But as it stands, the only way for me to enjoy this is to time loop the same exact things over and over.
>>158753501
People aren't trying to sell the series in here. Discussing older shows isn't anything unusual on /a/
>>158753662
Well, he's apparently working on something new. I don't worship the guy like those /jp/ posters but I'm curious about his stuff. Hopefully it would be good for him.
>>158753688
No, but some of them wants after stories or whatever. I think it's pretty silly, because a continuation could end up ruining the rest of the story if it's pretty terrible.
>>158753988
I feel like he's been 'working on something new' since 2011, but nothing big ever seems to come out of it. I respect the man, and I think he's getting old; BT died, there's really no reason to keep pushing himself and he can just write short, small stories. I've just accepted that all my favourite stories are long dead and the jews have taken over.
>>158753988
>a continuation could end up ruining the rest of the story if it's pretty terrible.
I totally agree, imagine something like Outbreak being an actual continuation from the Matsuri good end world. The extra chapters seem fun though, more like that and more fanservice should be fine.
>>158754053
You don't count Rose Gun Days as big? It's a pretty good story, I think he can still write enjoyable stuff.
>>158754053
I read something about a new WTC around here, I think. Honestly I don't follow any kind of animu stuff on twitter or other media so I can't tell if it's true or just jokes. It would be nice to have something new to talk for a change.
>>158754169
>more like that and more fanservice should be fine
Meh.
>>158754277
You don't want a Kira 2?
>>158754345
I almost can't remember anything about Kira and that tells me something. That's your answer.
>>158754345
Kira was a masterpiece
Ending always makes me cry... no pun intended. I think that the change made to the anime adaption made it more satisfactory. Anyone else?
>>158754497
The anime adaptation was incomplete, but at least emotionally enjoyable. Don't mind the haters.
>>158749124
And the music. Holy fuck that scene.
When all hope was lost.
When Rika was about to give up.
'He' arrived.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpvwR_njFKc
>>158754345
I'd pay DEEN and Ryukishi to get a Kira 2.
>>158749124
>>158755015
I thought it was a little dumb and cheesy, even for my age, when I watched it for the first time.
>>158755170
>watched
Here's the problem
>>158755015
They handled the scene extremely well, I was about to start despairing. I make sure to keep a save file as Rika is about to go up the ladder just so I can reread it every once in awhile.
>>158755214
I read it later though. I think the same. I don't complain.
>>158755170
Dumb and cheese makes it great.
>>158755287
There's a lot more foreshadowing to that in the VN. They keep telling you Akasaka is fucking strong and he feels really bad for not having been there for Rika. So at this point you're pretty much waiting for that scene to happen which makes it different from the anime where it's good guy beats up bad guy.
>>158755329
I suppose, but I felt it was a little too much like very unrealistic. He became Jackie-chan and destroyed everyone, I guess I was expecting something more serious. I was happy anyway.
>>158755367
Yeah, but I didn't expect him to beat a whole group of highly trained men. Whatever.
>>158755367
What makes it great is that Rika was on the verge of losing everything, and in comes her knight in shining armor protecting her from everything. For the first time in her life, Rika became untouchable.
>>158755455
Well, Matsuribayashi is kind of supposed to be too good to believe kind of deal, so I'll let the unrealistic kung fu slide.
>>158755486
Yeah, that makes it feel more like she deserved it and it's only right for that to happen, which the anime lacked. Without announcing that stuff it feels like an asspull.
>>158755455
I can understand that much. Didn't Okonogi challenge him one on one in the VN? Or am I just thinking of the Mion scene. If so that's more believable. And I don't know how much these guys trained hand to hand in their counter-intelligence squad but they didn't seem to be very competent.
I don't really have a problem with that, the one thing I do have a problem with in Matsuri is someone using a sniper rifle to disarm a solider from a long way away, just because no deaths allowed.
>>158755521
I know, but I was hoping more for more awesomely clever mind blowing plan to beat the bad guys instead of just punches. Still satisfying.
>>158755594
It's anime logic, I ain't gotta explain shit. Enjoy it or leave it, I suppose.
>>158755594
I don't know shit about sniping so that was okay for me. It's not like Tomitake didn't deserve a break after all he's been through so I can just say "he's that good".
The scene that bugs me is Mion beating up Okonogi. Didn't make any sense AND didn't have any use for the story since the fight was over. Don't.
>>158755594
The VN stated that the mountain hounds were mostly jack-of-all-trades in order to perform their wide variety of counter-intelligence operations.
The forces that are actually supreme in combat were the watch dogs, because part of their jobs is to deal with the mountain hounds depending on the situation.
>>158755704
The VN did stressed twice that Okonogi was tired as hell climbing through the mountain with all those activity. Not to mention he was actually giving Mion combat advice during the duel.
>>158755704
It's one of those cliches you know. The battle is over. But the two manly leaders still want to face off and see who's stronger. Communicate to each other their hearts, through their fists.
>>158755827
Yeah but still, Okonogi was established as a competent fighter. Mion was just Mion and couldn't take out many mountain hounds so you wouldn't expect her to be that strong. And since the fight had no purpose, it felt meaningless.
>>158755904
I like Okonogi, he's an asshole and tried to get Takano killed to clean everything up. But there was nothing to communicate with him, he tried to murder these children. That part was really unneeded, unlike the rest I'd say.
>>158755704
Didn't Mion get military training in America at some point? It's been a while since I read it, so I might be remembering wrong.
>>158755904
Can I punch you then? I'm trying to communicate with you.
>You will never bash in a bunch of little girls' heads with a baseball bat
>>158755949
Maybe that's why that fight wasn't in the anime.
>>158755972
yeah but it really was just holidays
>>158755999
You can still hurt yourself with a baseball bat. Try it.
>>158755949
>>158755976
Jesus you guys, don't you watch any martial arts movies or play fighting games.
Martial artists only need their fists to talk to each other. One thing was left to say: was Mion truly the superior leader?
He wanted to see just who had beaten him and ended his proud career. Were they respectable? Yeah Mion was. So he was content with his loss in a spiritual kind of way.
>>158756126
Excuse me for not being a weeaboo like you.
>>158755999
You can if you have enough DESIRE.
>>158756126
Okonogi is a child murderer so nobody should care about his pride or career

Are you retards still trying to bump this thread? Stop.
Is Higurashi manga worth reading? I know umineko manga was superior to the VN but whats the case here?

Theyre trash. Usually the dialogue and writing style is centuries behind western works. Only good thing is the soundtrack but Id still read a mediocre book over a amazijg VN any day of the week

The anime did a poor job with pacing and adapting the story. For as bad as you think the VN is, the anime is far far worse.
>>158764286
The OP started it by calling the VNs trash and being pretentious.
>>158764212
The Higurashi manga is much better than the anime, and definitely worth a read if you really can't be bothered with the VN.
