I have thousands of old touhou pictures from like the mid 2000s and tons of screenshots and fan stuff from Dog Days threads from back when the three seasons were airing. Probably a lot of stuff that only got posted once or twice and then faded into obscurity.

I like to think of my hard drives as a library collecting history that needs to be preserved.

Contrary to what people think, shit does disappear off the net. The fact is you are relying on a tiny percent of people like you anon that went to the effort to DL it, but not only that, are kind enough to re-upload it.

Some fan artists I've fapped to in early 00's disappeared for like a decade till they got re uploaded somewhere. Generally good artwork stays around, but I remember going nuts for something lost, spending a day each year lurking to find it. Never found it.

I feel you. I've collected images for years but now all they do is take up space. The worst part is all the projects I had planned to do with them that fell to the wayside. I guess there's not much point anymore, though.
