He used to call them "those Japanese pornos" in that dad-joke kind of way. We don't talk much anymore, though.

He used to, actually.

I mean, he knew I watched animated stuff(not just anime, but western cartoons and animated movies and the like), but he'd never watched any.

One day I caught him watching Speed Grapher, of all things, back when It was airing on IFC. He had caught it when he was flipping through channels and got kind of sucked in.

So yeah, after that we watched some anime shows (nothing too out there, Bebop, 08th MS team, Part of Darker Than Black). Even sat down with him and my mom(who loves fantasy books and movies) and watched Record of Lodoss War OAV over about a week a few eps at a night.

He died of Lung Cancer back in 2011. I miss him alot, but I'm glad I got a chance to share some of my hobby with him.

My dad was horrible drunk my whole life. He is better last few years. But he completely ruined any relationship between him and rest of my family.
