Nisio isn't very good at writing romance. He only manages to write good chemistry between characters he never intends to put together.

I've kind of noticed this after reading Kizu and the first two Bake novels. I don't remember Araragi and Kanbaru having such bants in the show. Their back and forths are hilarious and extremely lewd.
