why did Asuka have bandages

Bandages are moe as fuck.

No real explanation. She could move her arm, so its mostly healed. I guess you can leave the LCL in the form you are more confortable with yourself (so asuka wouldnt be, you know, minced meat).
But she still remembered about being damaged in those places and idealized some bandages on herself.
Also, their very clothes is likely derived of LCL too, otherwise they would be naked, as the fist time shinji regained his form a few episodes back.

ever notice how similar they were to Rei's? Everytime there was a new Rei, she came out with those bandages (just for show), but Asuka has them do, I'm guessing just for show, after she got brutally killed and reborn in the LCL, just like Rei. I think there's something there if you looked harder, maybe some Sun and Moon shit, since the eye bandages are on different eyes

Correct. Horus's right eye is the Sun and his left eye is the Moon, which is dimmer since it was damaged by Seth. We see that it's Asuka's (yang, though Adam is purest yang) right eye that's intact, while for Rei (Lilith & Lilin, the feminine Fruit of Knowledge, yin incarnate) it's her left.
