it wouldn't be very reliable to do it this way though right?
I mean this person would need to take a picture of the print with a camera which will interpret the colors differently, then send it to you which you will view on your monitor which doesn't have nearly as good color reproduction as a good printer.
its essentially going through two filters before reaching you.
Seeing a thread talking about Momoiro Meloik made me want to get back into it, but it turns out I lost my volumes in a basement flood a while back.
And now we wait for someone to tell me it's shit.
But seriously, you should typeset the pages first, so that you're reducing the amount of work you're asking strangers to do for you.

I doubt it. Too much effort without a real payoff. Keep doing stuff that's not actually done. People would rather read new stuff that's good from the get-go than just rereading the same stuff. Unless it's your own work, don't touch it.

There was a guy who was working on this like half a year ago. He posted a typesetted page in a scanlation thread back then asking for advise, yet it's still not uploaded. What happened?
>>158596725
Sesuji is the only reason I allowed for minor followings, but it was definitely a minor one. Archive shows only 21 OPs with "Sesuji" in the subject, and only two non-TOCs with it in the post itself. For comparison, even "Red Sprite" is in 20 OP subjects.

You're on point about the minor following but people often don't put anything in the subject line when making threads
>>158595702
These are books, as in, not manga? I don't think there was a tool that supports ripping text.
>>158598997
>attacked by a wild cleaner
They'd probably just smear it out with topaz and make something even worse than the raw.
>>158599378
Yeah, I was afraid of that.
Something like this'll work, though, right?
Tac Tics - stalled halfway because I can't understand a page
Doron Chibimaru - complete, can't find someone to typeset in PS
Ganbare Genki - translated a volume but can't find better raws
Yosuke no Kimyou na Sekai 01 Fukuwajutsu - halfway finished translating
Koshoku Robotto - kind of interested in starting since anon asked and it a qt
I picked up Gakko Kaidan at Book Off yesterday, and it's a bit simpler to translate than Yousuke Takahashi's other stuff considering there's furigana, but that's being handled by Habanero scans. Also grabbed Makoto-chan, which appears to have no translations yet, so I might pump out a few scripts. I'm shitting myself as I'm 6 weeks into being an illegal alien in Japan, and still awaiting confirmation on visa renewal, so motivation's running pretty low these days.
blog
Since there's always a dumbfuck or two who mentions this in every scanlation thread: Habanero Scans isn't a scan group
It's just a name for anons who don't belong to big groups to upload their stuff on the reader sites, like /a/nonymous. If a manga is stalling after a Habanero release it's because whoever released that chapter can't or won't continue to do so at a timely pace
>>158599802
Funny how it's "not a scan group" but the leader/owner/creator has connections to every person involved in every project on their site, and every release by Habanero people is marked as having been made by Habanero Scans
>>158599894
>the leader/owner/creator

>>158599802
Semantics, dude. Hardly even matters. Someone's released a chapter in the past two months, so however glacial the pace, whoever it is is still considered active in the scene. Don't really feel like sniping it when there's other stuff out there.
>>158600297
Probably because you asked him for raws for a manga that any fool can find if they google

>nearly no reaction, and half of what there is say the series is shit anyway
Droppu no Jikan desu.
What are some good fonts to use for titles and shit?
>>158638945
That depends entirely on font the title uses. You should try and find something that matches the original text as best as possible.

equal opportunity principle?

Japanese is half the battle, the other half is target language fluency. e.g. Murakami translates English into Japanese but won't do his own J-E translations.
>>158639191
What does *that* mean?
>>158639907
"That," you know, "that."
>>158639936
"that"?
>>158639889
That's the problem, I could talk like a tourist, but most times I can't even make sense of a phrase even if I look up every kanji. I can read English without any problems, even if I write it like a caveman sometimes, I would be happy enough with reading Japanese, I mentioned translations but I doubt I would care enough to do that.

Ok so I finished typesetting everything, now i just need someone to redraw some stuff on a few pages and It's be done, namely 21, 30, and 33
33 really only needs a tiny bit around the right bubble in the middle pane
https://mega.nz/#F!DNIzjZCZ!2wXeA_bfq4gVw7Y8jiWJWQ
This is my first time doing this sort of thing, so any advice on how to improve my typesetting would be nice too.

Don't worry, it'll take at least an hour to die.
>>158640672
i want to read more. is there any way to keep up with your uploads?
>>158640672
Those redraws are not even hard. Aren't you gonna typesett the moans too?
>>158633461
Do you want to do this?

/a/ doesn't read manga
I'm trying to rip raws from cmoa.jp through their online reader. When looking at the image data that gets passed to my browser, the images are all scrambled like pic related. Here's the URL of this image from some Ane Log chapter:
http://cd1.binb.cmoa.jp/sbc/sbcGetImg.php?cid=0000070016_jp_0001&src=images%2F9Lvsp9jt.jpg&p=WrJKrVOA6-qlAij1VzerXiyYNDs&h=770&q=0&u0=1&u1=0&dmytime=20151017001511
All I've managed to figure out is that if you remove the "&h=770" parameter from the query string, it'll return (what should be) the full resolution. Anyone /g/ enough to figure out how to get the unscrambled images?
>>158649242
You need to figure out the descrambling algorithm from the javascript files
If the anon who wanted the Prison School spinoff from Young Magazine the 3rd last week is here and didn't get it yet, I got the magazine.
https://www.sendspace.com/file/de9wmg
Is there any way for me to obtain scans of the physical edition of this magazine release?
http://www.ebookjapan.jp/ebj/27063/
There is a part of this magazine that I would very much like to scanlate, but that page says that the digital edition doesn't contain the chapters in question.
>>158650283
george morikawa pulls that shit with ippo because he hates technology. just order from any online japanese shop there's plenty of guides on how to set up accounts on some fo them. I used to buy all my physical manga from honto. shipping is where you get fucked in the ass depending where you live. I would avoid amazon japan simply because they use a flat service so unless you are buying in bulk you will probably pay double in shipping.
>>158650397
>I would avoid amazon japan simply because they use a flat service so unless you are buying in bulk you will probably pay double in shipping.
It's usually the opposite. They charge per item so if you're buying a ton of small volumes Amazon shipping will be obscene.
The trick is to use Amazon for entire sets of used manga, those are always sold really cheap for some reason and you'll only pay shipping for one item.
>>158650517
That's why I can't quite justify paying for it. It's just like 30 pages of a Bessatsu magazine that I need; I find it absolutely nuts to pay like 40 bucks to ship one magazine issue internationally.
If there's someone who's in Japan and can buy it and scan it for me, I could surely pay for those costs.
>>158646268
Female MC... Let me check the raws
>>158630882
This is really sad. That one anon still keeps diligently uploading the tanks and EGS simply totally fucks this project over.
>>158650889
Their project status shows that they need a translator and typesetter. What a shame, I'd read it but there are already 4 volumes out and they're stuck at/finished the first one.
>>158649242
You could simply dump the canvas as seen on the left side of pic related. The result will be what's in the center.
Be aware, though, that you can't use the cheap screenshot-method in the browser since it will be watermarked (see the image to the very right), but a direct dump of the canvas - as mentioned above: on the very left and center in pic related - will not be watermarked.
So, go figure what's easier for you, write a descrambler, write a canvas dumping script, or dump it manually if you don't have much to rip from there.

i got them already, and. yeah i'll do it. if you want the psd or do a proofreading leave me a email
>>158650889
I've read that one. Interesting premise, but the author have no fucking clue what "story telling" is and just lay out exposition like that's somehow suppose to be engaging. Feels like I'm reading a bad WN, which I probably am.
>>158651046
That's their usual issue since they pick up more than they can handle.
>>158649242
The fixed OMD is still working for cmoa, I don't know which version is
>>158643551
this is my first actual project and it will be going up on ex as soon as I'm done.
>>158643734
>those redraws aren't even hard
they are for someone who has no idea what he's doing.
>Aren't you gonna typeset the moans too?
I'll try to do as many as I can but right now I can't because I stepped on my fucking glasses in the middle of the night somehow and they broke. It's a miracle I'm even able to type this since I can barely see the letters on my keyboard from 1 foot away
>>158653350
what's the title in english
>>158653373
It's on the last page dude
Black Gal vs Prefect vs Prefect President~Love Hotel 3P Collection

> I stepped on my fucking glasses in the middle of the night somehow and they broke.
I'm fucking dying right now.I also wear glasses but not to the point to be useless without them also, who the fuck needs to look at the keybord to type?
>>158653546
I knocked them off my nightstand somehow and stepped on them while looking for them on the floor. The little elastic band that holds the lens in broke on one side so now I need to wait to get it fixed because I'm useless without them.
man I wish I could get augmented eyes or some shit because this is annoying.
Is underdog scans ded?
>>158653802
look atm their activity
have they released anything in the past 4 months?
>>158653802
They're alive, but their website is private for some reason.
>>158654072
They released zombie 2 weeks ago then stopped.
>>158654153
Aint that bad? Groups that usually does that retires
>>158653802
Who cares? They're attentionwhores anyway.
>>158654259
They're still doing Zombie, but the translator hasn't posted translations of the latest two chapters yet. And they aren't retiring.
>>158654340
To be fair, each chapter of zombie is killing my brain, so I'm taking a temp break off of zombie. At least until the current arc resolves itself
How do you guys find the time? I first started getting into this scene back in highschool where I had plenty of time all day every day but now I have hardly enough to sleep and study. Any leisure time I have, I find that I'd rather much prefer reading manga than doing it.

the author also has a bunch of short works that need to be typesetted but to get to the existing translations you need a Danbooru (((Gold))) Account™
Once I get my glasses back I'd be happy to do these too, I just need either a gold account or a translator. Maybe a redrawer for some of the pages.

Viz is doing it. No need for scanlators to pick it up.
>>158656056
no one is ripping viz
viz doesn't sell worldwide
>>158656354
Not a reason for people to waste their time on something already being translated.
>>158656354
>no one is ripping viz
I see, it's your first day here. Lurk more.
>>158652431
Can you upload yours? I have a 1.6.2 version that says fixed but it doesn't work.
>>158657208
Don't even bother asking, he won't.
>>158657253
Guess I'll have to keep taking screenshots with myipad.
>>158657464
That will have watermarks.
>>158657673
But I don't see any. You mean invisible ones? I did a threshold check on some pages but didn't see any, guess I could do it on the rest.
>>158658012
Well, no clue then. I do know that they do watermark, though.
>>158630790
I'm pretty sure redrawn verson doesn't have any translations, since author begged translators to stop translating.
>>158651446
If I did this with screenshots how can I check if it has watermarks?
Pick up more isekais lads
>>158659841
You can see where they are on my example.
Just create one or two leveling layer masks and push they gray to the very right.
