That ambush by the harem makes no sense.
Laius' party got caught totally by surprise. A party on their level should not get caught like that, especially since they just avoided the eyes of the sorcerer. You'd think they'd be on alert.
Bad move from the author in doing that ambush scene. It doesn't even add anything to the plot.

They should be prepared regardless. Like eating in a safe spot away from prying eyes. BASIC stuff for adventuring, really.

And even if the other party are ninjas or "high level" I think they shouldn't have gotten ambushed like that.
Not that it matters since if Laius and co ate at a safe spot they wouldn't be seen and thus not ambushed.

The harem are assholes as well. I mean they see fellow adventurer's eating in peace and decide to go ambush them... fucking dickbags (I mean cuntbags).

If Chilchack is the navigator, Marcille is the medic and Senshi is the cook, what does that make Laius? The shit-magnet? What important function does he fulfill?

They were at a safe spot. It was the bottom of the secret stairway shortcut nobody normally uses because its full of venomous wall tentacles. Thats about as safe of a spot as they're going to get this deep in the dungeon without going back to the orc village and if they camp out in the halls or houses they risk the sorcerer finding them or another shift happening.

Laius knows more shit about monsters than anyone else in the party. He's also ridiculously strong for a human, able to survive getting hit by a dragon. But even without his strength, just his monster knowledge and countermeasures alone make him one of the most valuable party members, right up there with Chilchak.

He'll probably blame Laius and co for jumping the gun before he could get there with his mystical jap techniques that could have helped prevent his waifu from dissolving. In the end he'll probably stick around, and everyone will be super impressed by the amazing nippon ninja skills that can sneak up on a seasoned, veteran dragon killing party of adventures in a wide-open fucking hallway that has a high level halfling.

If Kabru would only hear Laius out before making a move, I think the whole situation could be resolved before it even developed into an altercation. Kabru wants to either dominate or destroy the dungeon. Laius wants Farlyn back. Getting Farlyn back puts Laius on a collision course with the sorcerer. Leaving Laius to do his thing, or piggybacking on his efforts, furthers Kabru's own agenda by that much. As things are, even though neither Laius nor Kabru knows it yet, it's a fact that their respective set goals are close enough that it is in the best interest of Kabru to not seek a confrontation at this time.

He already expressed that he believes Laius and co are scummy, irredeemable liars. Talking to someone he thinks is a liar and hearing their side isn't going to change anything, he'll just look for the perfect opportunity to stab Laius back in the name of """justice""". While neutral evils like Cabron are perfectly capable of doing good and/or lawful deeds when it suits them, a lot of them have characters that are completely unable to trust the words of anyone but themselves blinding them to the benefits of actually trusting and going along with those people.
