I think it will be the case if the series doesn't decide to ditch all of his supporting cast. Mineta may be a retard in front of a pair of tits, but he's quite clever, and he didn't sperg against Midnight at least, so I guess he can tone it down if neccessary.

Hori literally rolled dice when it came to determining intelligence stats. He stated that he's fond of Mineta because he himself is quite perverted, so the 5/5 Intelligence stat is just being a creator's pet on Mineta's part. Aside from that, Mineta has never shown any signs of being particularly intelligent or strategic throughout the entire series. His supposed "special move" Grape Rush is literally just throwing his sticky balls as fast as he can in a panicked frenzy. Every single time (pretty much only two times) his balls have ever secured a victory, it was due to a plan that MIDORIYA came up with. Mineta's nothing but a joke, and an old one at that.

Mineta's win against Midnight wasn't any sort of groundbreaking achievement since Midnight knowingly left the escape gate and gave him a chance to get by her. She knew full well Mineta wouldn't have been able to do shit if she had camped in front of the gate, so she decided to be a good sport and give him a chance to pass. And one more thing, Mineta had to wrap his face in Sero's tape to avoid getting caught in Midnight's sleeping gas, anyway, so you can't even say he pulled it off single-handedly.
