I liked it. The beginning was fairly weak but when Noumi showed up the show became pretty good.

Better than SAO at least, but the chuuni audience needs generic self-insert power fantasies like Kirito rather than flawed protagonists like Haru.

Oh, the show has solid animation, VA work, and soundtrack.

The problem is that it's an adaption of an LN by Reki Kawahara, and Reki Kawahara can't write for fucking shit. He took an amazing concept and produced a boring execution.

The entire second arc is an incredibly painful slog.

I remember watching it after a friend recommended it, then commenting to him that the whole VR setting felt a little bit like SAO.
I was absolutely surprised when he told me it was by the same author, because it was so much better.

The game was interesting. Lots of potential with unique abilities but still keeping some basic rules.
It was shit on the school life aspect, though, with all the bullying plots and Kuroyukihime falling in love with him. I was actually expecting her to reveal that she was only pretending in order to get Haru to follow her or something.
