I did some research. Genco constantly fund anime. They were the main guys on the production for In this Corner of the Worl from MAPPA. Maruyama left MAPPA though, so this is going to be handled by someone else his new studio M2? Maybe it'll be a collab between M2 and MAPPA and maybe even VOLN. The designs from the posters heavily suggest that it's MAPPA.

The only flaw I found in this series was the unsubtle digs at the Bush Administration, with the pansy president following orders from a robot Teddy Bear. I think they said BD sales are a bit down but they get more money from stream shit. Don't know any general date, seeing some comparison lists of BD sales for the last few years and 2017 and season sales would be interesting.
I had the feeling the last few seasons sold pretty shitty save for one or two big hits that made more money than the other series together. But it could be more of a coincidence then a trend or just my wrong assumptions. I don't follow every sales thread due to the shitposting.
