I'm on chapter 12. I know it's well loved but I'm not super into it. Does it get better or is it just sort of not my thing?

I remember there was a manga like this, except in the first few chapters, the MC got missions from his phone. His first mission was to kancho someone, and he ended up kancho'ing a salaryman up the butt.

It's taking me quite awhile to get through it. I just can't get into the characters. I'm sure once their motivations are spelled out better I will but for now it just seems like they're doing things without purpose. There's no tension or suspense. Just "Oh no a golem" "Oh good it died!" repeat.
