Me too. It's one of the very few series of a year which I still remember even years later. Well I remember a bunch of other stuff but I kinda enjoy most anime while their air and stop giving a shit a week later, but I am still very fond of this series. Even the music was nice.

Me too I still liked the 3 ep OVA joke though, I really liked this, the setting was cool and the soundtrack was great, shame it never got a S2.

1-3 was great.
4-6 was good.
The rest was eh.

A promising but flawed show.

Didn't the author get tired of writing it and just took it to a quick finish to get rid of it that left everybody unhappy?

Episodes 1-3 were god tier
Episodes 4-6 were good tier
Episodes 7-9 were shit tier
Episodes 10-11 were terrible
Episode 12 was pretty good
OVA was lewd tier

The author admitted, when he first started writing the series he just wrote it as a short story and planned to end it with the first volume (where Ai's father died). However people really liked it and asked him to keep writing.

He said if he had known it was going to be long running series rather than a one off story, he would have changed things up to have Humbert die later on rather than dying right at the beginning.

Alis accidentally kills Ai with his powers, and Ai wakes up as an undead. Alis shares his heart with her (literally) and that's more or less where the LN ends but I don't know the context of any of this shit but it was an axed ending anyway
