Its clear that his mangaka is inspired by Bleach. Its also clear that his specifically targeting story and character elements that were reminisce in Bleach when they were needed the most, and is consistently keeping pace with them in each chapter.

So far, everything I wanted in Bleach has been delivered in Black Torch, minus all the failures of Bleach. I expect this series to last quite a while, easily 40-60 chapters. Plus, the monthly release and the 35-40 pages per chapter helps IMMENSELY with making sure everything is fleshed out and written properly.

It is. But edgy doesn't mean shit by default.

I was a big fan of the first two chapters, but not as much so on some of the others since they got a bit more generic and lacked writing on part with the first two.The art is fantastic though and it comes off as something enjoyable.

The series still can be make or break, but I'm really hoping it's the former.

Psyren has too many times used plot, too much useless sets of characters that doesn't fit together and overall bad quality of fighting.
But the storytelling was quite good and drawing was quite nice.

First chapters were amazing, then it kinda devolved into a tropefest. The MCs are cool though, and this Kouga dude is funny enough. Design and violence aside he actually reminds me more of a shounen MC than Jiro.

The art is great and I love the use of heavy black ink, so if anything I can just keep reading this for the eye-candy.
