Remember when Jojo was an obscure series that only had passionate followers and no elitists or part skippers? I remember the days when it was kinda hard to find others who had heard of it, much less even liked it. The golden days of using GGPO and playing Heritage for the Future online feel so far gone now that Jojo is a living meme that gets shat on no matter the context.
General Whiner's thread about series you feel have lost their touch because of sudden boost of popularity.
Watamote, I guess. But then it died down and things went back to normal pretty much.

>Remember when Jojo was an obscure series
Nope, I don't. I do remember when I was a thirteen-year-old shounenshitter reading it as one of my first ten manga because of the super funny WRRRRYYYYYYYYYY spam, though.

>an obscure series
>30 year long manga
yeah you totally didn't just get into jojo I'm sure

>no elitists
You're one yourself, Anon

just play some hftf on fightcade you dingus
I remember when it was disregarded for being too homoerotic and old Jojo-fans getting mad that Araki though that Americans were too stupid to understand it, but it was never obscure.

Nothing wrong with elitism. It's what could have saved /a/
If you guys hate Crunchyroll making everything mainstream why haven't you made a time machine yet to stop it from ever existing?

This, I wouldn't say it was obscure, because thanks to the memes especially, most people knew of it in the West. It was just one of those series 99% of people knew pretty much nothing about aside from "ZA WARUDO".

>jojo
>ever obscure
Just because now normies spam IS THAT A JOJO REFERENCE and other similarly detestable memes doesn't mean it was some sorta hidden gem.

Crunchyroll came after anime started becoming mainstream.
Monster Musume. Not the threads or the fanbase, but the manga itself. It has become painfully vanilla and censored. It's barely worth reading anymore.

I do blame it on the popularity if that wasn't clear. Especially since it became popular in the west.
>>158409190
Monster Girls should have remained a cult fetish.

More exposure means more art and games for me. So I don't mind. MGQ is still something I fap even now.

JJBA has NEVER been an obscure series. It certainly wasn't as popular as it is now, but if you had spent any time on 4chan, in particular /b/, in the early 2000's then you would have run into the infamous WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY meme on more than one occasion
Stop being a fucking idiot

Araki was right though
