He was going to, that much is obvious; with the whole blushing thing from her in that one chapter and the comments from yuki/ryoko like "oh they have a nice mood" during the roof scene and meat got jealous, but it seems he decided not to do for the love triangle anymore which is much better. Erina/Soma is the main pairing yet it's developing at a snails pace so a cheap love triangle would just be worse.
