Watched NHK ni Youkoso! (Welcome to NHK!) recently. Then proceeded to read about it on TV Tropes, and saw that Misaki might be more of manipulative and having issues one in the manga than in anime: maybe even a yandere or having borderline personality disorder. Would like to read more about these borderline personality of her parts, and read just when things start to get more about her than Satou in the manga; not read everything from the beginning. So, on which volume do we get more about Misaki in the manga, and her inner fucked up self is shown more?
Ignore the Manga.
Ignore the Anime.
Only the novel counts.
Anime was way too fucking censored.
>>158302132
>Misaki having BPD
Nah, you definetively would have seen that both in the Manga and the Anime. That would have been much more clear, since BPD is quite hard to surpress, unlike schizophrenia, for example. You can believe me, Anon, I am diagnosed with BPD

>Ignore the Manga.
>Ignore the Anime.
>Only the novel counts.
Not OP, but why? The Anime was really, really great, maybe one of the best "mature" ones out there. What does the LN better than the other media?
>>158303188
>What does the LN better than the other media?
As I said, TV version was censored. they threw out a lot of the legally problematic parts.
>>158303338
>legally problematic parts.
You mean the drugs he used?
>>158303379
And the fact Yamazaki is openly a pedophile. with posters and all. The images he gave Satou as inspiration were all of little girls.
>>158303538
Yeah, but isn´t that just day2day bizness for nips? If most of the cliches about your country are about pedophilia, you sure have to be used to hearing about them, right?
Also, come on, it was a animation series for young adults, teenagers maybe. You can´t have only batshit disfunctional people in there, that´s not entertaining.
>Youkoso Hitori Bocchi starts playing.
>>158303188
I don't think the anime was "really, really great", that thing is super cringy. I relate to MC to a certain degree but lets be honest, that thing is only possible because apparently psychology doesnt exist in Japan
>>158302132
>Then proceeded to read about it on TV Trope
You have to go back, cocksucker.
>>>/R*ddit/
>>158303888
>I don't think the anime was "really, really great", that thing is super cringy
That is no contradiction. It is really well made, especially the last three eps, and it emotionally stings really hard, almost as hard as EoE.
If you find it cringy, then maybe you relate to Sato a little bit more, than you want to admit, hmm?
>apparently psychology doesnt exist in Japan
It does, the girl from Sato´s school, the loony one, had prescription pills, benzos and ssris. Going to therapy and taking counseling is just very, very frowned down upon, practically social suicide.
>>158303632
>Yeah, but isn´t that just day2day bizness for nips?
No. actually the government was cracking down with new laws so its probably the reason why it was censored.
>If most of the cliches about your country are about pedophilia, you sure have to be used to hearing about them, right?
So? I dont care.
>Also, come on, it was a animation series for young adults, teenagers maybe. You can´t have only batshit disfunctional people in there, that´s not entertaining.
First of all, its not loyal to the source.
Second, you already had batshit dysfunctional people there, trying to normalize their illegal aspects while maintaining the legal dynsfunctionality makes no sense.
Third, I dont care that there are batshit dysfunctional. It makes their character unique and likeable.
And what does the target audience have to do with the dysfunctional part?
Face it, they censored it simply because it they were doing illegal stuff and there is no justifiable reason to do that other than the fact they were cowards who didnt want to face possible criticism from the government, parents and other "normies"
>>158304048
I can only admire nips who will commit social suicide so they wont have to commit actual suicide.
>>158304284
Well, that´s why we have Misaki-chans in this world, to avoid both social and actual suicide. I think we all need a Misaki-chan in our life, Anon.
>>158303379
It still works if you view him as being a paranoid schizophrenic.
>>158304048
It is a contradition as cringy stands for disgust and embarassement upon actions - by standard that goes against maturity's direction. Anyone can do cringy things but jfc, this is an anime, something that actually have a director to plan it out and theres something obviously wrong if you fill the whole thing with it.
>It is really well made, especially the last three eps
No? They're super rushed in comparison to the series' pacing.
>and it emotionally stings really hard, almost as hard as EoE
Again, no. EoE is a fanservice of the last 2 episodes on the series. Its neat to see but ultimately not necessary for the series conclusion. Still, an amazing film.
>It does, the girl from Sato´s school, the loony one, had prescription pills, benzos and ssris.
Thick headed.
>Going to therapy and taking counseling is just very, very frowned down upon, practically social suicide.
Do you do therapy? Don't you know that your relation with your psychologist is strickly private? Unless you tell others you do therapy they wont know.
>>158303055 is right in recommending only the novel. Its the original source and ends differently.
>>158304473
As much as i love NHK, i have never ever wished for my own personal misaki-chan. I know i sound like a faggot but i believe we are strong enough to survive without misaki-chan.
Manga > Novel > Anime
Ending
Novel > Anime >>> Manga
Enjoyed all 3 adaptations regardless.

I go to theraphy and i keep it a secret from absolutely everyone. Still kills me inside because of the shame. Took me years to overcome myself and go, but i really appreciate it.

Reading my post again made me realize I made myself sound like a hater. I just wanted to criticize it with the negative side. I just think that the events are too much exagerated, bloated, directed to muh feels. Theres more to life than that.
I do psychoanalysis and have no shame about that, everybody have some kind of problem anon.
>>158304473
You can be my Misaki ;-)
>>158305258
>I just think that the events are too much exagerated, bloated, directed to muh feels.
It's on purpose, remember the protag is a Hikkikomori.
>Theres more to life than that.
Of course there is, part of the drama comes from not being able to enjoy life.
>everybody have some kind of problem anon
No, good deal of people have nice lives after overcoming their problems. None of them on /a/
I read the manga, it was just too "cartoonish" and absurd at times to take it seriously, not a bad read by any means mind you, but i'd say its arguably overrated.
>>158305800
>It's on purpose, remember the protag is a Hikkikomori.
I don't like that because it gives a false idea of his reality. At the same time the story shows his life it automatically criticize what he is doing, the elements reponsible for it are negatively unbalanced.
>Of course there is, part of the drama comes from not being able to enjoy life.
This is going to a direction that I didnt mean to: this quote depends on the phrase that comes before.
>No, good deal of people have nice lives after overcoming their problems.
Anon, everyone have problems in life, even those you think are the winners. Life always find a way to trouble you. If you can't seem to think of it, I suggest watching Twin Peaks, the series really goes on that in a subtle way.
>>158304965
What the fuck, where do you live where you can´t even say that you get help from someone, wtf?
I`m >>158303188 and basically my whole family knows it, including very close friends. I mean, what´s the deal? Everybody around me already knows that I have "some" issues, so it´s just sensible to get help for that, right?
Remember, there´s no shame in getting beaten down, only in not getting up again.
>>158306082
That´s the point, it´s supposed to hurt, not necessarily be enjoyed.
>>158304925
>i have never ever wished for my own personal misaki-chan
Look at that normalfag not wishing for his personal MPDG, let´s alugh at him
