Why aren't there more space opera anime? They're consistently by far the best shows, yet they're also one of the rarer types. Mecha doesn't count, in case you were going to bring that up.
Will we ever seen a space opera renaissance in the future?

I don't get it though. Those are almost always absolutely horrid, while space operas, even the subpar ones, range from good to incredible.

I've also have been wondering this lately.
With manga it's even worse.

Bull fucking shit. Glass Fleet is not good.
Legend of Gaylactating Homos is getting a remake, isn't it?
>Dune by Yuasa
Would youpay forit?

True, but it's just a remake, not a new one.

I'd pirate it, like all my anime. At best I'd stream it on a legal service.
Tytania wasok, but was not great by any means.

How many Japanese space operas are without mecha?
>>158277597
All of the good ones, hence no mecha.

It doesn't really create any merchandise I'm assuming. No gunpla, no toys, and people aren't going to buy male plastic butts unless it's big with the fujos.
