Despite it not being a blockbuster, it still got its DNA in many many other mangas.

You definitely need to read part 6. It's the most important part after 1 and 3 context-wise. As for the part itself it's pretty good. Maybe not as exciting as 5 but it has things going for it and a fair ammount of fans. The story is better than anything before and the characters are fun. Battles are gimmicky and sometimes bad but mostly enjoyable. Also take your time with reading jojo. Once you're caught up you'll fell sadness. Especially since part 5 will be fully translated in a month

Part 5 has very old and bad translations at the last 12 chapters. There's a guide on reddit for reading part 5 because a bunch of different people translated the finale so that that leaves only 3 chapters of old translations (type in " how to read part 5" into google to find it). You don't really have to worry about it until chapter 583.
