I went into this thinking it was going to be much better than Oreimo (because how could it not, with Kirino being such a bitch) but now that it's almost over I'm completely disappointed. It just really doesn't stack up in the slightest in the slightest - and it's not like Oreimo was that great.
Sagiri is bland and boring as hell with little to no development since the start. She may not have started out as the violent tsundere Kirino was, but she sure is almost as moody and quite bitchy too.

Masamune is an even bigger disappointment. Where Kyousuke had hobbies and friends aside from obsessing over his sister, Masamune only seems to serve a purpose in life as a foil to the women around him. The only other thing he has is his writing and that is both boring as hell to watch and eventually revolves around the women in his life, too. To top it off, he's bland as hell with little personality. Kyousuke enjoyed some good banter with friends and family, a good sarcastic quip and some dry humour. Masamune is generic harem protagonist "I love him because he's nice" shit.

One of my biggest gripes with the Oreimo anime was its pacing. It was quite rushed, especially towards the end of the first and pretty much all of the second season. But Eromanga-sensei is even worse! Characters get introduced and inexplicably fall in love with the main character almost instantly after barely sharing two sentences. The siblings start lusting after one another after not speaking to each for years also almost instantly (but it's okay because they loved each other all along, no really).

All in all a complete clusterfuck.

Get it? That's the joke. The author is making a point about his own story and characters; you can't write something decent within 60 pages. Even autistic japs that did not read the LN could see that it was a meta joke, but of course the westerner who's new to otaku culture can't.
