Are Kimi no Na Wa and Koe no Katachi actually good? Why is everyone talking about them?
They just seem like 5 cm per second, all visuals and no substance. Also body swap is a tired meme.

Lurk 3 more years before posting.
Why don't you watch them and find out?
>>158213564
Because most of this guys material is exactly the same
OP, a thousand people could join in this thread and say the movies are absolutely amazing, and you could hate them anyway. (And the opposite.) Just watch them for yourself.

Is this an RWBY thread?
Look at this season of anime and that should tell you why anyone is excited about anything that looks like quality

5cm/s was bad*, even if nicely drawn
koe no katachi was much much better*, story made a lot more sense and while it had a bit of a mary sue protagonist I liked it a lot overall, also the feels, and it's a nicely directed movie
garden of words is better than both of them*, less feels and no kyoani magic but a real good movie, made a lot of sense, shinkai is a good director but he probably hadn't realized until the making of this movie
kimi no na wa I haven't seen
*disclaimer: these are my opinions and you may disagree because whatever reason
good thing is, you can watch them both, or you can watch koe no katachi and wait for kimi no na wa's bd and watch it in higher quality
>>158213511
Kotonoha no Niwa is the same shit OP
>>158213511
>is Koe no Katachi good
No.
Haven't watched Kimi no Na Wa yet.

that's exactly what Kimi no Na Wa was too.
haven't seen Koe no Katachi
>>158213511
Kimi no na wa is good but not great. Koe no katachi is mediocre. Everyone is talking about them because they are plebs and those are movies about cute girls. Noticed how no one talks about the actual good anime movie of 2016? Because it's not a self insert story about saving a cute girl.

>Also body swap is a tired meme
name 10 anime where this happen
and no, hentai doujin don't count
>>158213511
>all visuals and no substance
Style is substance
