There's never a Vagabond thread, which shows /a/'s tastes are suboptimal. Here's me fixing that problem. Now /a/ is closer to being invincible under the sun.
There's never a Vagabond thread because there's never a Vagabond chapter. Let it go until it returns. Simply, let it go.
>>158194608
Inoue is such a lazy fuck,
>>158194515
Hiatus will never end. There is still a whole book to adapt.
>>158194649
Nah he is just writing Real
and he has a writer's block regarding Vagabond.
just check the last couple of interview he gave.
I found them pretty interesting. Never thought about his mindset when he writes Vagabond.
>>158194515
Yeah you're right, I've never seen a Blade of the Immortal thread on /a/
>>158194794
>Nah he is just writing Real
Anon, there hasn't been a Real chapter in literal years.
>>158194794
>writer's block
How do you get writer's block when you're adapting a fictionalized biography of someone's life?
>>158194515
I started reading this about 2 weeks ago. It's really amazing. The art captures the emotion of the characters so well, I'm kind of astounded by it. I'm surprised there has never been any attempt to adapt it into an anime actually, although probably that's a good thing (since they would most likely fuck it up).
>>158194794
Link to the interview? And how can he have a writer's block when he's set-up the story when he's set up the story so well for a fight between Takezo and Kojiro? Also isn't Real on hiatus as well?
>>158194794
>>158194854
>>158194864
He's depressed; it's not 'writer's block' or laziness. Also, Vagabond isn't an adaptation of Musashi. It only started out as one.
>>158194934
yes
well when he is so depressed that he is asking himself if he is even good enough to properly translate his "feelings" and thoughts and as a consequence stops writing
i think you can call that writers block
>>158194907
https://mangabrog.wordpress.com/2014/08/09/takehiko-inoue-the-vagabond-hiatus-interviews/
I think it was this one
really changed my opinion about the author
>>158195075
Would I be correct in guessing that you've never had depression? The notion of depression far supersedes a semi-mythical concept called "writer's block".
>>158195154
well
when he is depressed he cant write
so something is blocking him
hence writers block
>>158194794
>Nah he is just writing Real
Is there a new chapter or something? last I read the animal man was getting trained by the THICC samurai wench and takezo was heading to the same city as him, or something.
>>158195465
yes
>>158194886
It is! I think Kojiro is one of the best character designs ever, and how he's introduced is fascinating. The characters are well-developed and nuanced for the most part, which is enjoyable.
There is a slim chance he might be getting back to it.
We're only a few dozen chapter away from the end anyway, I need more Inoue's art.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZIibkPkPAs
Spoilers at the end I would assume.
>>158195675
I think so too. The old Matahachi telling others the story of Takezo seems to point it's nearly over.
>>158195953
>Spoilers at the end I would assume.
Yes, the entire epilogue was shown at his exhibits. I actually ordered the artbook that has it.
>>158196768
You were able to find and afford it? Then, would you have any intentions or means of scanning it? Everyone deserves to be able to see the epilogue. And, I can't imagine it happening any other way.
>>158196948>
>You were able to find and afford it?
I found it on Amazon jp and you probably can to. Two artbooks were sold in these exhibits; one with a white cover the other with a black one, the black cover one includes the epilogue.
>would you have any intentions or means of scanning it?
Yes, I do plan on scanning it. You can actually find pictures of the epilogue online if you want to see glimpses. Pic-related.
>>158197323
>Yes, I do plan on scanning it.
Good to know. I shall thank you for your efforts, then.
>You can actually find pictures of the epilogue online if you want to see glimpses.
Yeah, that's why I wanna see the full thing scanned.
>>158197323
>Yes, I do plan on scanning it.
GodspeedNo rush though
>>158194934
Depression tends to self resolve over time even if he isn't seeking help (which he should if he has depression anyways).
Vagabond is on hiatus for years, this goes past depression, I think it's safe to say that he simply lost interest in it much like Miura lost interest in Berserk.
It's not unusual for people to lose interest in something they've been doing forever and that doesn't require depression.
>>158194515
That's just a phrase.
I will never have genuine peace in my life until Vagabond and REAL are finished. I know the epilogue for the former is out, but the thought of not seeing the duel between Musashi and Kojirou fills me with too much sadness.
I really like Vagabond (at least once it hits the farming saga, so deep) but there is ZERO point to making a thread if theres nothing new to talk about.
>>158198019
It's a classic Japanese meme.
>>158194849
Samurai mango thread?
Samurai mango thread.
>>158198039
Think about it this way--real life is always unfinished until you die. So the best manga will always be unfinished until you die.
>>158197843
>Depression tends to self resolve over time even if he isn't seeking help (which he should if he has depression anyways).
That's not necessarily true. Deep depression is almost impossible to self-resolve; light depression has the *potential* to self-resolve.
And, you don't seem to be familiar with the failure of the nation to acknowledge certain mental illnesses - including depression - as being altogether real. You ought to read up on some of the literature on the matter; it's quite bizarre. Points are: Inoue is extraordinarily unlikely to get help if he is depressed, there is no guarantee of successful treatment for depression whatsoever (anywhere in the world), and depression does not resolve itself.
Here's some light reading on Japan's failure to acknowledge depression:

Wisdom.
I love Vagabond but sad to know that it's gonna end with Musashi bashing Kojiro's skull in with a wooded oar. And i like Kojiro.
>>158200527
Kojiro was the best man-child ever.
>>158200527
>gonna end with Musashi bashing Kojiro's skull in with a wooded oar
It ends with Musashi as an old man and that kid that traveled with that woman asking him to train him actually.

are you retarded
>>158194849
>Blade of the Immortal
>worth being on /a/
>>158203035
/a/ doesn't deserve Blade of the Immortal.
>>158201879
The epilogue has been revealed years ago in one of Inoues exhibits. Read the thread dumbass.
>>158203247
You are actually retarded. Or not a native English speaker. Either way - you should not be on 4chan. Leave.
>>158203577
Proof?
>>158203577
What the fuck are you even talking about? The epilogue was revealed years ago, and there's proof in the thread.
>>158205741
Jesus Christ, this is sad. Do you not know how context works in the English language? Do you believe that "the end of the day" means 11:59 PM? If you can't figure out basic English context logic, you should not be using or posting on English-speaking websites.

>He's depressed
He literally said in his interviews that he just doesn't feel like drawing and that having to work stresses him out.
Stop making excuses up for him anon, he is not the first nor the last mangaka that hit it big, got rich and got bored of drawing manga.
>>158194608
this, let it go
>>158194649
meh that sucks

Not him, but Christ- Learn to English.
>>158206376
He means "end" in a loose way. Not literally the ending.
>>158203101
What happened to BotI ? I bought the tankoubon back in the day, but I stopped caring after that whole "Manji got caught and Rin must save him" arc. Are chapter still coming out ? Is it any good ?
>>158209175
Maybe he's so stressed because of depression.
>>158215898
Proof? He literally drew Takezo old and wrinkly. This can't not be the end.
>>158206130
>and then he wrote a book
>He calls how to be a great swordsman
>His publisher renames it the book of five rings
How many mangaka have actually managed to pull of what Inoue has and made as many as three absolute masterpieces?
>Vagabond
>Berserk
>HUNTERxHUNTER
The Holy Triad of hiatus
>>158219219
This is God punishing us for our sins. Repent!
>>158219219
Only the first one of those is good tho.
>>158219219
At least the hiatuses didn't go as long as Beet's which lasted for nearly a decade.
>>158219459
Well Vagabond is on hiatus until Real is completed, which itself is on hiatus.
