I unironically love all of this stuff. I loved watching The Tatami Galaxy, Haibane Renmei, Aria, and Kino no Tabi. They all taught me to enjoy every single day of my life, and to live it up to its fullest, as well as to reflect upon my actions.

I think it's also people who post those meme 3x3s where they claim that a lot of the anime in the 3x3s (like Lain or Tatami Galaxy or Eva) are there simply because the anon wants to be "cool" or "elitist." Although there is this clear elitism vs pleb dichotomy in the anime community I think that both sides engage in the strawmen fallacy. The so-called plebs don't claim their favorite shows are masterpieces or the best (even though the elitists argue against this claim which was never even stated) and the so-called elitists are scrutinized for their desire to appear cool or smart when there are a lot of fans, that I personally know of, that spend a lot of time talking, watching, and analyzing their favorite shows which they genuinely find entertaining.

Personally I got bored of shows like K-On. I tried to finish it but couldn't. This also includes shows like chuunibyou. Other shows that generated hype such as Erased and Re:Zero I had a very hard time finishing because I was constantly cringing at the writing quality and couldn't help but point out, what seemed to me, flaws in the story. While there are other shows, that despite their numerous flaws I found myself being extremely entertained and they earned a spot in by 3x3.

Point is, anon, it's not as simple as "trying to be cool because hating on moe is cool."
