I mean, it's a medium with high-contrast pictures with large details. Need to convey emotion? Massive eyes. Need to show action? Exaggerated poses. Manga is drawn hastily so little details are usually ommitted. IRL it's usually printed on B5, tiny booklet size. The only problem is text, a loong while ago I tried typesetting a doujin of which only 600x800 scans were availible- it was a nightmare.
