Last time I checked on Freezing, he had introduced like two brand new types of Pandora that are a billion times stronger than the previous ones so none of the original characters mattered anymore. Dropped it and never looked back.

Yeah, Aflame was canned because he jumped to another publisher and they couldn't get them to let go of the copyright, because they were trying to force him to stay. Of course his habit of dropping every story he starts wasn't as famous at the time though.

If you're referring to why it got its fan to the point it was animated, also refer to Kurokami, which was also animated.

My understanding is that both Freezing and Kurokami are both set in Japan and have Japanese protagonists, so easier to digest for Japanese readers. Lim's earlier works starred Koreans and were set in South Korea. When brought to Japan, the settings in those works were altered to Japan, with the cast renamed in Japanese.

at first, I wondered why or even how anyone could write such an ending. Did he hate his characters? Did he hate his readers? I think he was done with the Pit Aria (or whatever it's called) universe and decided to scrap it with a bang.

Why do people keep giving this clown a chance?
