"0 substance" was an overstatement on my part, I agree. I was merely trying to convey how frustrated I was having to watch 40 minutes of footage which could've easily been cut down to 10 minutes without losing anything of value.

Finished watching End of Evangelion, easily the best animated movie I've ever seen, 10/10. Reminded me of one of my favorite animated movies, that in hindsight was probably heavily influenced by this movie, "It's Such a Beautiful Day".

Glad you enjoyed! Have you seen Gunbuster? It's by the same director. You'd probably enjoy it if you enjoy Evangelion.

Still, EoE is the best anime movie, even animated movie I've ever seen. God tier.

I wouldn't say that, it had good art, good acting, fun action, interesting story and some of the best cast of characters. They were flawed and had their own motivations for doing things, which I find is very rare in anime where character's actions are usually driven by sense of justice/camaraderie.

The last 2 episodes are the result of ignoring budgets.
