I really don't know, and it's one of my favorite series. It just always makes me feel good when I watch it. Well maybe not good, but it makes me feel right, if that makes sense. I guess I just feel really drawn to the entire atmosphere of the show.

It had a great OP and it was the first "deep" anime I saw that dealt with philosophy, the internet, and technology in general.

Of course I saw it back when online streaming wasn't even a thing.(Had to download it via Kazaa, took almost a week), so nobody was talking about it so it felt like my little gem anime.
