I don't know about ever, but there's definitely a few shows every season that get completely forgotten and haven't been mentioned on /a/ in years. Even relatively recent stuff like Coppelion and Buddy Complex. I see Birdy at least once a month on here, sometimes in multiple threads a week.

You don't see Xam'd very often, unless it's someone claiming Nakiami as a waifu. Sometimes shows just aren't that memorable.

Both Birdy shows were decent but fell short of being legitimately great. It's a shame, because it feels like it could be something special, but ends up just being good.

yeah the movies were trash but the fight choreography was p good, you rarely get live action superhero movies that do the speed and weight of characters that strong and i think they did ok eg the man of steel smallville scene when the kryptonians show up. that i think is mostly what they took from birdy

This had a great modern rendition of Birdy in terms of her character design and some good action scenes here and there. Sadly they shit the bed in pretty much every other aspect, and season 2 was even worse storywise. The animation became really horrible at times too.

The OVA anime was superior.

Digimon Tamers is fucking great. Definitely underrated, mostly because it’s Digimon.
Adventure was good and all, but there’s obviously a heavy dose of nostalgia with that one. Tamers beats it out, even with that nostalgia.

Not 'top tier' whatever that means. But KNK is underrated for sure. It definitely stands out above your average seasonal shit and is a good example of a LN adaptation done with some actual effort instead of just going through the motions. A lot of that comes from the characters which aside from MC, are all pretty well done. Mirai is also the fluffiest, cutest thing and that opening chase scene is super adorable.

I still prefer old birdy to decode. Tsumo was actually a character in it, and his family and friends too. Amazing how 4 episodes there had more characterization than all of decodes. Hell, did the decode manga ever start getting translated?

The first half of Bokurano were fine and I remember the tomboy's episode was much better than the manga as you get to see just how fucking desperate the other earth is to win with kamikaze attacks and that mother telling her kids it was fine but the other half was just dumb garbage. I guess the reveal that Dung Beetle and his sister were humans from another earth was better than the manga because I just reread the manga a few weeks ago and there's no big reveal. I guess that story point had already been spoiled by the anime and Kitoh was being a lazy bastard. Anyway, good manga, worse anime
