No, it's been established before that if Shinobu died Araragi would become fully human, just as if Araragi died, Shinobu would go back to being fully vampire. Shinobu asked Araragi to kill her in the bath scene but Araragi wanted them both to live, even if neither one was happy, and Araragi dying > Shinobu going full vamp happened in the alternate timeline where Hachikuji lived.
