Post here if you can post and make fun of the people who can't post.
Captcha exploded and now people can't post except pass users since they don't need captcha.
I got one gifted years ago and then I couldn't go back when I expired so I ended up buying one again and again. It's way too convenient. Only during sales though, buying it full price is for faggots.
Now that the plebs are away, we can take their wives for ourselves!
Do you really?
Who are the true winners? Us who are still here and still able to post? Of them who have been freed from these shackles and now able to do with their lives as they please?
I'm taking Miho for myself!
It's actually surprising to see that not a single person on /jp/ has a pass.
>it's really been five years
>still haven't taken a single step toward my dreams
Well, fuck. Thanks for the wake up call, man.
This is a great way to see what kind of series are popular among us gentleman
Would you mind helping support 4chan? A pass is a nice way to do it.
Sorry to hear that, bro. I've done a lot of things, but haven't accomplished much myself except get into med school. It's a pretty okay feeling, but it's still mostly debt and uncertainty for the near future.
But I exclusively read shonen.
It's actually pretty damn depressing. Things weren't this bad even during the times of GARuto and the such. At least back then they didn't have 24/7 generals. DBS are among the most cancerous things I've seen on /a/ in years.
So how long will this last? I actually don't know if I want this to end
I thought the captcha fucking up only happened to me
Accelerator and Gurospammer were cleaners. Purgers. They were what separated the rabble from the ones with worth. If you couldn't deal with something as petty as that then it means you weren't ready for imageboard posting.
I blame phoneposting, but honestly, the whole internet is all kinds of fucked. It got too big overall, it has changed way too much. Like everything in this world, it went to hell when it went mainstream.
Remember when Jojo threads used to struggle to hit bump limit? Where did all go so wrong?
I guess it all starts to bleed together.
The day of the rake has finally come!
>Accelerator and Gurospammer were cleaners. Purgers. They were what separated the rabble from the ones with worth. If you couldn't deal with something as petty as that then it means you weren't ready for imageboard posting.
This is exactly why I advocate for deleting /pol/ and returning to the cesspool that was /b/.
Maybe so but it was better than how it is now. Social media was a mistake. Remember how one of the first thing you were told about the internet was to never use your real name on it? Now everyplace wants you to plaster it everywhere.
The issue here is DBS is a currently airing series, so basically one cannot logically remove threads for things with very relevant/fresh content purely on personal qualitative demerit.
Gut instinct dictates that for the sake of the board's health it could be the right thing to do, but it is also a hugely slippery slope to fall down. Similarly, BnHA and SnK also have currently airing content, and when they don't have animu they have new chapters, etc. Functionally the majority of generals form around popular subjects as simply a precipitation of collective interest. You can squash as many as you want but more will rise in the future for anything popular enough.
You must also consider that modern 4chan is used all over the world and that all it takes are a few people in totally different time zones chiming in at various times to slowly keep a thread going for days and days. We also have a much longer bump limit than a little while back + the catalog search makes it super easy to track a thread from anywhere in the board. In essence the structure and widespread use of 4chan along with modern technology (mobile posting anytime) facilitate this general-forming atmosphere. It's not just an /a/ thing, look how many boards are just fucking covered in them now far more than us - /g/, /tg/, /int/ etc. It's an epidemic.
>Madoka was 6 years ago
>mitsudomoe was 7 years ago
>S&W was 9 years ago
>Chinese batman was 10 years ago
>Geass was 11 years ago
>black lagoon was 12 years ago
>baccano was 13 years ago
>azumanga was 15 years ago
>lain was 20 years ago
We cannot. It's way too big. Times have changed and there's nothing we can't do about it anymore.
Short of some super millionaire oldfag buying 4chan and him starting to rule with an iron yet caring fist and he starts hiring mods and paying them properly so that they actually put effort in cleaning up the boards there's nothing to do.
>Hope that /pol/ and /v/ implode over something retarded again.
>But this time for good.
That's literally impossible. Every time there's a happening normalfags flock over. In fact, both /pol/ and GG are are the reason there's so many normalfags and newfags here nowadays. They ended up bringing in tons of undesirables.
Wait for 4chan to inevitably die and fracture off into several new chans since no one wants to touch the existing ones. Then pick one that has a decent community and most importantly is somewhat quiet.
This, if you wait a while the recent influx of /pol/fags who were just here for the election happenings will die down and the population will eventually stabilise. The only problem is when the next big happening thing happens and the population booms again.
>mfw at all the people that buy the pass today
I find they tend to keep to their boards. Its more facebook anime meme pages that are cancer. I have friend irl that post on them and have moved to /a/ because thats where the "dank memes" are. They all have the shittest taste and are streamerfags. I cant seem to fix their taste no matter how hard I try
Fucking otakool fags
I found amusing how /mpol/ despite sounding like the worst combination ever on paper actually worked out rather well and cleaned up both boards from their undesirables.
Fucking Christ this. I fucking hate anitwitter, otacool faggots and most of all "ironic weeaboos.
Anitwitter is absolutely cancer. Nothing but "ironic weeaboos" and all other sorts of otacool normalfags and worst of all failed normalfags who for some reason got into anime so they could find somewhere to belong and keep trying to make anime "socially acceptable" because they believe that if that happens that'll somehow means they've become normalfags.
I miss Dantalian. Such a lovely and charming series.
Don't remind me. I'm sad we'll never get more Dalian
Was this just Hiro's plan to make a bunch of neetbucks at once?
Sorry guys, the server for free users is down! Honestly!
I never thought the catalogue was that bad, but then when people misspell the subject of a thread that's usually popular and it's empty, you realise most people literally just search the board for threads they want and nothing else. They don't browse, keep up with other threads or generally keep up board culture at all. Catalogue was the biggest mistake.
Good, it can stay dead.
>I find they tend to keep to their boards.
Eh /pol/ is leaking massively.
Normalfags are around the same level as anoying as /pol/tards and it depends whether you think blaming the jews for their favourite anime not going as they'd like or streaming is worse.
I can't decide
LWA is also completely dead. I guess cross-shitters don't have passes.
Can we stay like this forever?
I have no idea how murrikans can deal with everything in their life being so politicized. I don't even live in Murrika and I'm sick of it, it must be 100 times worse if you actually live in there.
Even if not I can't see him ignoring the amount of people who've bought a pass for the sake of posting in the downtime that'll presumably last a few hours if that. At the very least I wouldn't be surprised if it led to him adding more pass user exclusive shit to try and entice people further.
Will Haruhi ever come back
It's /pol/ that's leaking onto the rest of the site.
/pol/ being made up 85% redditors is what makes it worse than /b/tards growing up and leaving that shitheap to find a board to belong to
I want to know the percentage drop in activity for every board.
I'd appreciate a Kyonko spinoff more, honestly.
It wouldn't be a problem if mods did their jobs and banned them the second they stepped out of /pol/
also notice how the pidf hasn't came out of the woodwork like they usually have because they're all redditors who would never buy a pass
>It's /pol/ that's leaking onto the rest of the site.
Excluding redditors the vast majority of /pol/ users are users from other boards looking to talk politics and it's been that way for a long long time. "/pol/ leaking" has only really been an issue since the election and possibly GG when reddit started to flood the board, traditionally migration has always been inward to /pol/.
This is heaven.
Like /a/ of 10 years ago.
This isn't an insult because I don't know what it means anon
I wish your elections didn't last so long, and politics weren't as fucked up either.
I couldn't escape all the shitposting about Hillary, Trump and Sanders which I didn't care about at all
>Excluding redditors the vast majority of /pol/ users are users from other boards looking to talk politics and it's been that way for a long long time.
P.S., those other boards are /b/, /int/ and /sp/.
/v/ and /pol/ are (/pol/ is the highest trafficked board on the site), but I always thought /a/ was quite niche, it tends to isolate itself from site drama more than other boards.
The point is that while you're on /a/ your posts should be reflective of that. Every board has its own posting culture and it's obvious when someone hasn't lurked enough to respect it.
It's fine if you don't talk about it or bring over bad habits.
Saying the act of crossboarding is wrong is just an extra prevention measure. This is basic stuff to make crossboarders shut up.
Fix it already Hiro, I don't like /a/ this slow.
/a/ for better or worse is isolated from a ton of the drama and crap that goes around in other boards because it's main topic from Japanese origin. This simply fact defends it from such things because those things you are mentioning are usually from western origin. Hell, most of the drama that happens on /a/ is dumb gaijins getting pissy that Japanese have a different culture and throw a tantrum because nips don't act like murrikans and them forcing their own opinions and morals on culture that's fundamentally different from theirs.
He wasn't responding to you.
>I don't know what it means
>which I didn't care about at all
No one outside of /pol/ cared, mentioning it outside of /pol/ should have been an instant public ban, having any sort of political discussion on an anime board is dumb as hell to begin with
Business idea : /a/ but for pass owners only.
>but /v/ is absolutely unbearable with the /pol/ posting
Putting a turd on top of another turd does not make it any better. It's still shit at the double. Doesn't help that /v/ has to deal with western stuff and how politicized their hobby has become too. Not that /v/ doesn't have a gorillion other issues though.
>shitposters and phonefags will be back in a few hours
Wouldn't work for something as large as 4chan or even /a/. One time/yearly subscription services won't keep paying for server costs. It would have to turn into SomethingAwful tier.
They have shit taste for some reason. Same for /wsr/ and /wsg/.
I'm on my phone right now and there's nothing wrong with it.
That's very true. I'm just glad politics and the whole racism/SJW/sexism thing is largely absent here. Feels like it only pops up in threads about historical settings and similar
Only the newest of fags misunderstand what "crossboarding" means.
The idea is that when you visit any given board, you respect the culture and environment of it. You don't drag shit from other boards into new ones.
Google's probably updating it with some retina-scan botnet shit.
We're probably like the 4th or 5th.
Pretty sure /tv/ is bigger as well.
What do you think the non-pass users are doing right now?
YES. On 4chan's birthday maybe.
>Maybe they are even watching anime right now.
Why didn't I think of that?
I don't understand what the problem is. You can torrent high quality encodes without a problem. Storage is not a problem. Subs are not a problem. Essentially the only difference between watching on my phone vs. watching on my desktop is the video player I use (MX vs. mpv) and the necessity of pre-scaling (none vs. NNEDI64). I guess if you have a shitphone it's an issue?
>I don't understand what the problem is.
Look at your phone screen and then look at your monitor. If you still can't tell the difference then you are extremely retarded, not that we didn't know that already. Either way, kill yourself.
You're right there,
although I reckon there's a lot of crossover there but they actually know how to fit in with posting conventions. Still /a/ has to be on the larger end of oldfags regardless.
>Mfw they can see us making fun of them but can't do anything about it.
Easily. LibreTorrent on fdroid, flud, atorrent, etc.
Don't know about iThings but I seriously doubt it.
That I have to use resource intensive scalers to make 1080p encodes look good on my 1440p screen? That subtitles are proportionally bigger to accommodate the difference in distance from screen?
How the heck do you think they buy dolls and onaholes and shit? The only people that can't AFFORD a pass are SEAmonkeys and literal monkeys from south America that we should rangeban anyway
>/a/ just tries to be oldfags by shitting on anything popular
You can really tell these days the board is full of contrarian faggots hating on everything and loudly spouting negative opinions, because oldfags were so cynical and hated everything popular right guys XD
meanwhile naruto, bleach and wan piss threads are perfectly fine now because they've become hated even on pleb forums so the contrarians are now fine with them
>this entire post
I wish passes had a lurk requirement.
A new site would probably be named after 4chan (4chan.info or sumthing), and would be not much more than a blatant carbon copy just with 50% more ad space, slower response times, shittier mods and less reliability. If that is somehow possible.
There might be a war between the crossboarder's 4chan.info and /a/'s own creation 4chen.cat.
>Then we can finally make a new site right?
Like people have tried countless times in the past, how many times did people used to claim 4chan was dead/dying and say they'd would move on to 7chan? If 4chan ever goes it's over people won't migrate to another imageboard they're too niche to begin with and a lot of posters only hang around 4chan because it's so well established and they're already attached to it
Yeah but every other time 4chan was still alive. You could still post there. If you couldn't actually visit the site anymore people would flock to another one. It'd start with a low population but thats been needed for forever anyway.
I like to think we'd migrate to desuchan.
Nah buddy, 4chan is too well-entrenched for a true fresh start (as much as it might be needed). >>157731292 is right on the money, a new website would just be an all-around crappier copy of the old.
Well I do spend $100 for 100Mbit Cable I suppose. TPG ADSL2+ unlimited is like 60 bucks for the shitty 12 Mbit one
I've yet to have anything they do affect me though, and they've been trying for like a decade
Im going to go real slow here so you cab process what I'm saying right? OK here go.
If 4chan died, then a lot of the people who post here would move to one of them, and then it would be fast enough to be worth it.
OK, did you manage to get it that time or do I need to go slower?
Get fucked retard.
BT and Virgin both have them. Only one I can think of that doesn't is Sky.
I'm going to go real slow so you can understand.
Most people post here out of inertia.
It's established and well known.
If it died they'd likely just move on and do something else with themselves.
You will never be this comfy while watching anime.
I'm glad I live in a country with actual competition between ISPs. We have like two dozen of them.
A typical package is 40Mbit/s with no datalimit bullshit for the equivalent of 10$ a month.
Eat shit, Amerilards!
My headphones would make me uncomfortable.
I hope it gets fixed in five minutes.
No but in all seriousness, passes are great and you'll never look back.
I only bought it because I have some disposable income I don't know what to do with.
"I spend a good portion of my time on this website, might as well make my experience with it slightly more tolerable".
Buying it just you can't go one day without posting is just sad.
You clearly don't understand the modern make up of 4chan anon, it's not the same neets and rejects it was years ago, if 4chan were to die this moment your average poster would move on to reddit, not another imageboard
>it's not the same neets and rejects it was years ago
What NEETs and reject?
Just what fabled version of 4chan are you talking about where everyone was a stereotypical wizchan idiot? How many "years ago" are you talking about here? Because it can't be less than 10.
I normally use a pass because my country is rangebanned. Glad the situation is reversed now.
Still, fuck you hiro and "the 4chan team". I never got rangebanned under moot.
Do pass users love flat chests or cow tits?
Fuck off passusers
Jump through whatever logic hoops you want to anon you can't say the makeup of this board hasn't changed, we have people talking about their relationships and friends in every single thread now, if 4chan died now there wouldn't be any big migration to anywhere other than reddit
Sorry to break up your circlejerk, fellas.
>Literally throwing $20 away like a retard
True breast lover reporting in. Preference for DFC though.
GET FUCKED SMUGFUCKS
4CHAN IS LITERALLY DEAD WITHOUT US
>buying a pass to post in a mongolian throat shredding board
