daily meta thread
today's gimmick: What do the mods actually do RIGHT?
The mods will generally ban anyone attacking a specific fanbase, especially "moefags," "moeshiteaters," etc. If you see someone attacking "moefags," "moeshiteaters," etc., rather than the usual telling them to go back to /v/, simply report. This goes back to an old sticky warning /a/ not to start shonen v moe wars.
a crossboarder, /a/ is a hell of a lot better managed than most other boards right now. You don't have a whole lot to complain about that isn't just down to people posting things you don't like.
Faggot can't deal with his hurt feelings. What is this Tumblr? Plebbit? Maybe you should go back.
Deleting Madoka threads I hope.
>his friends aren't ironic weebs
Get out, normie
thank god. I'd go a step further and ban everybody that isn't posting cakes.
>Over 50% of /a/ has awful taste
This guy is correct.
What is meant is that crossboarders don't behave on other boards as the local board culture demands.
When on /a/, behave like you're on /a/, and not like you're on /u/, /co/, or /m/.
That means that it's okay to start general threads, as long as they're not called generals. Also, the correct way to fit in is to claim that everyone else is using reddit and to fuck off back there, no matter what the other poster wrote.
The /a/ catalog consists of well over 50% images of "moe" stylized girls at any given point in time. /a/'s primary defining trait which makes it unique from the rest of the English speaking internet is its disproportionate love of "moe" compared to the rest of the English speaking internet. This trait makes /a/ a valuable, unique resource for anime fans.
There has to be at least one Loli posted on every thread. That way the 3DPD-spammimg moralfags will remember where they are.
Dat bat tho
>lewd adult mind
>in a loli body
>or a teen body
>or cake body
>or whatever age body you want
I mean there's few lolis as good.
everyone is such a fucking babby just post up fucking anime and shut the hell up
oh no, aniki is sleeping, only trips can wake him up, dubs will wake wake gyganigga up.
She looks fine in that dress and stockings.
If you want to actually work toward fixing the board, instead of just shit posting in this thread, find a way to make bans stick, or at least be expensive to evade. Come up with one that preserves anonymity while keeping costs down, then there's a chance for improvement.
Always use templates and you will never get banned.
new /a/ rule
only pre2000 anime is allowed to be discussed
if you wanna talk lewd lolis, get a 4chan gold pass and post in /l/
I'm starting to think that the anti-loli spammer is a lolicon and wants to increase his loli collection.
Die monster, you don't belong in this board.
>rigging your own poll
>Seriously believing all of those posts
The bump limit is too high and makes the place look stagnant. /a/ was pretty fast in like 08, and still only had a 250 bump limit, and the only general thread was strike witches or nothing. People treated discussion like it was on the fly, and if you missed it you should have been lurking more. Now topics and threads are generally closer to we had before 4chan, ironically. We've gone full curcle back to BB forum days where you wake up the next day and check the updates in all the threads you like.
So I say that's garbage, and we should lower the bump limit back to 250 or max 300. The fact that most people use the catalog now also makes huge bump limits unnecessary.
And bring back visible sage.
> I don't even fucking like loli
I think we should adopt a similar system to 2ch.
One board for currently airing anime /a/, and one board for anime that has finished airing /a2/ and one for everything else /a3/ (industry discussion, news unrelated to airing or old anime, more general topics).
"Generals" are allowed to persist on on /a/ for a show from maybe a couple of weeks before they air until a couple of weeks after they finish. At this point posting threads about that show on /a/ becomes forbidden and must move to /a2/ where generals can persist for as long as they want forever.
If you want to shitpost about a show rather than discuss it like an adult then you are allowed to make a thread for that on both /a/ and /a2/ and they can persist as generals following the same rules as regular threads.
Any topics that don't fall into the above two boards but are anime related still can be discussed on the board for all anime topics.
I wish she lived in my shadow so we could eat donuts every day.
Let's stop beating around the bush and get some digits.
I want to fill that donuthole.
I didn't use to like loli, but now I do.
My best friend got me into it, she is a gay lolicon and we share lots of loli.
Normalfags can't into loli, you're just grasping at straws now, give up.
Post yfw lolifags are slowly, but surely dying out
They can dumb normalfag 3DPD lover.
You're just jelly.
Like a donut.
Didn't even know that existed in real life. I wish I had a lolicon friend but alas, my friends are normies.
>if you don't share the same fetish it means that you are new to a place
You are almost as obnoxious as footfags.
No, the problem with generals is as always that it will inevitably turn to utter shit, as all the participants will just repost boring old shitty pictures and memes to keep the thread alive for the sake of keeping the thread alive, and then start talking about their private life and other blog-shit instead of the anime or manga itself.
That's why they must always be deleted.
You were the one spamming 3DPD the other day, don't you remember?
Yeah, it's great to be able to talk about 'forbidden' lewd things with someone who doesn't judge you (and vice versa).
>3 shitty boards instead of 1
/a1/ would be full of newfags watching the currently airing reddit anime or a ton of seasonal shit to fit in, /a2/ would be full of newfags, and /a3/ would be full of /v/ style shitposting
I wasn't aiming for dubs or trips in that post. And neither are you, so this post doesn't count.
It has changed, now fuck off, you don't belong here anymore.
I have one friend who I can talk to about it, but he isn't a lolicon, we just are good friends and he happens to like Xenomorphs and aliens and vore and sissy shit which I'm not into.
So I can kinda talk about it, but I wish I could share art/doujins and stuff. Bit jelly anon.
Lolis were always meant to be deleted.
Search your feelings.
You know it to be true.
Oh hey look more normalfags. Why is /a/ suddenly ok with the word ''normies?
Nah you pedo ironic weeb are the one who need to fuck off. Normalfags are nothing but cancer.
"Normie" is a word used by people /a/ considers far closer to real "normies" than themselves, I.e it is a false poser faggot word and you are not a real /a/ user if you say that. /a/ isn't persecuting you because you're too abnormal for them, but bevause you use a word indicating you are too normal for them. You ARE a normie if you even used that word, which is a bastardized version tweaked to be usavle around actual normalfags. The original and real term in the 4chan context is normalfag. "Normie" is the fucking whitewashed/SJW-approved version because the "fag" part is offensive to them and they want to be able to drop this term on places like Reddit, Facebook and twitter - which are pretty much the textbook definition of normalfag dens - without fear of getting reprimanded. Which defeats the whole fucking point.
If you are being careful to "fit in" on various shitty normalfag websites, you are actually as normalfag as they fucking come and just have some fucking ludicrous idea in your head that you're not. It's the same as these "omg I'm such a nerrrd XD" shitheads on those same sites only here it's "omg I'm such a weird unique person XD". In summation shut up OP because you clearly have no idea what you're dealing with and /r9k/'s whiny emo shit is not what /a/ is about.
Sadpanda is alive and well.
Your friend has awful tastes, but at least you're open to each other.
But you're the one sperging all over this thread, not me. Maybe it's time to let go this board, friend?
Should loli be banned from /a/?
It works for the nips but then it's a textboard where threads take forever to disappear even when they drop off the board. They're all literally the worst kind of general in most people's minds. Same title, same OP with link to the last thread. The quality of discussion inside the threads seems better than here slightly I'd say unless you are in one of the dedicated threads for hating a show.
A lower bump limit would increase the speed of the board while not changing anything. People would just make more threads to compensate their shorter life.
/a/ is perfect as it is already, nothing needs to be changed. Or rather, one thing could happen: make mods stop overmoderating this board.
Post to your heart's content, friends.
This thread is on autosage mode.
Alternatively, to get this thread archived faster, just bump all the other threads on /a/ to slide this one closer to page 10.
>I was here first!!!
Nice logic, are you 15?
Wow it really is true even lolicon are normalfags. No wonder neo-/a/ is such an awful place.
>they use the word normies
>claim to have normies friends
Then let's talk about our favorite Shinobu doujins!
/a/ is already slow enough as is, any thread takes from one to three hours to get bumped off depending on the time of the day and general activity on that day (with weekends being usually faster than weekdays, obviously). There's no need to split /a/, much less any need to separate anime discussion for ongoing shows and finished ones, especially just because of fear for the "general" boogeyman. Even the "generals" for currently airing shows have plenty of time to discuss new episodes on the day they air.
/a/ is already doing well enough. Whining at people who like things you don't won't and should never make them go away.
Have you been reading this thread? Look at how many lolicon ironic weebs are claiming to have friends or hell even friend from the opposite sex who they probably fuck because they are 3DPD lovers.
Why are you defending such people? Why are you defending normalfags?
why cant we just do all that on /a/
its fucking anime there isnt that much to talk about
/a/ should be pre2000 anime only
>I personally don't like it so it should be illegal
.....What the fuck? .....
I wonder if threads get autosaged to determine who the worst shitposter samefag retards are and range ban them or if it's just a roundabout way of getting rid of this shit without technically going against what hiro blurted out in some random /q/ post and that the mods should have explained to him is a terrible idea to have up at all times ages ago.
My money's on the second, though threads sometimes getting autosaged isn't a new thing so who knows.
I wouldn't disagree with that but a show that is popular enough to sustain 24/7 discussion after airing when there is actually discussion going on should be allowed to have that discussion still. So I think really it just takes careful moderation. To determine when that discussion has gone away altogether and just become an image dump with the same comments over and over. Perhaps too careful to be viable.
>he doesn't follow his favorite arist/industry people on twitter
Maybe you're the one who doesn't really care about anime?
I think speeding it up would greatly improve it. I agree about overmoderation though, but that's what everyone asked for time and time again, so they got it.
>moving goalposts after getting BTFO
You're the one who dodged the question when I asked "do you not follow artists/industry people on twitter?"
Thoughts on neo-/a/?
>normies instead of normalfags
>tumblr, reddit, facebook filename
>cuck instead of NTR
>using virgin as a insult
>using pedo as a insult
>getting mad a loli
>anime becoming the new ''xD im such a nerd''
This is my last Gerry image, why is in God's name is this thread still up?
>get told that mods generally ban anyone attacking a specific fanbase
>attack a specific fanbase
I'm proud of our concentrated effort.
Sometimes a mod likes pretending that they're doing work by auto-saging threads instead of deleting them. Most often, they use that feature to get rid of threads they personally dislike without leaving any traces behind though.
MODS PURGE THE TEMPLATE THREADS FOR GOD SAKES ALREADY
>yfw at some point we'll reach bump limit even on autosage
Honestly if you are relying on /a/ for news and information you're missing out on so much more. Not even him. I suppose if you don't know Japanese it's pointless though. But if you do then direct interaction with industry worker and immediate knowledge of everything going on in the industry in terms of news and events is yours. Usually hours before /a/ is discussing it and without any of the purposefully misleading translations that are so common here or the erroneous translation you often get on sites like ANN.
Lurk for 10 seconds longer and you'll notice that OPs are irrelevant on /a/, people can turn any thread into discussion as long as they want tot alk about a show. "Templates" are only a problem for people who are unfamiliar with the board.
You don't have to engage into their culture, you know? Just admit that you simply want to hate on any social website and you'll ignore any common sense if something doesn't fit your bias.
