Think about it in this light. For every rock nigger Gappy kills, he puts Jobin at a higher position for the sole fact that nothing will be left to be higher than Jobin by the time Gappy finishes business. He makes Jobin climb higher, which goes with his philosophy. He's already made antagonistic moves, but is restricted by his own family. If that wasn't a problem, Yasuho would have been long dead.

Kaato isn't the main antagonist, she's probably more alternate Kira's dad than the antagonist. She has nothing against Gappy or no motives that conflict Gappy's. Jobin does. The flashback chapter was also more Jobin-focused, not Kaato focused. While it did explain her arrest, it didn't focus it from her perspective, only Jobin.

We also know that Kaato's Stand and its abilities are unknown and haven't been fully revealed, while Speed King is already out, but Speed King's actual full power isn't known. It's a secret.

I wouldn't look at Alt Diego in that light. Araki has Valentine as the big bad event though it is all Valentines and not just 1. We're supposed to think of them as one villain. In the same vein, it is still Dio that bests Johnny and not an alternate.

They tried to flesh out one character trait but instead created an inconsistency. David's DIO's World was ok imo. OVA was not as good in terms of style, I like the look of the anime better. Thematically I liked the OVA more (lack of music made it intense and edge-of-your-seat) but it loses points for no RoadaRollaDa. Overall I find that while David's animation and art were a bit lacking, they did produce a competent fight scene while albeit below average was enjoyable. I like them both and have criticisms of them both.

I think the closest thing to the Pillar Mon are Dialga, Palkia (as they literally come from the Spear Pillar), Giratina (who is found in a different location than the other three, of which the entrance is at the Spear Pillar, and is related to Arecus) and Arceus (who lives right above the Spear Pillar and is the ultimate pokémon), besides, the Red Chain is an unobtainable item that is important to the story, used to free and control Dialga/Palkia and it reminds me of the Red Stone of Aja.

But at the same time you have entire scenes executed in absolutely brilliant ways in the anime like Shigechi's death scene which was made much, much better in the anime. What you're insinuating is that the entire anime is that "stiff" when there are numerous moments in the anime that truly capture moments from the manga better than the source material itself, shit like the whole flashback scene for Josuke or the entirety of the finale in general.

I just don't really get why you have to go out of your way to demonise the anime through nit-picked shots, half of which you've posted have already been fixed in the blurays too. Take a look at how high-quality the JoJo anime adaptation is in comparison to adaptations other series' get and you'll see just how faithfully it's been handled.

I don't think any actual fan of the series hates Phantom Blood, but it's easily the weakest part of the entire series. That's not to say it's bad, it's pretty flawed but still very enjoyable with some absolutely fantastic moments in it. Just the fact that people consider it to mostly be the least-good part in the series is a testament to how good Araki had gotten as time went on.

To each their own I suppose, I really enjoyed the finale. CDIU 2 was hype as hell and the finale itself had some fantastic direction, damn good animation and the epilogue with the UNITS version of Great Days playing was a brilliant way to send off the part.
Also, the scene of Kira biting the dust one last time was done so well it was pretty much breath-taking, if not trippy as fuck.

I beg to differ, the less-detailed style still conveyed a fuck ton of character and even when they did focus on making the designs more detailed, they looked pretty damn great. Harvest 1's a great example of it, they nailed the cartoonishness of the characters with a style that both captured the light-heartedness of the part and also the more serious arcs.

That wasn't a pacing issue, that was more of an issue of how they handled the extent of the damage in general, though I'd still argue it made sense so it didn't detract from the scene nor did it stop the intended impact of how much of a madman Hayato was.

This is one of the few points I'll concede fully on, it was a damn shame that they didn't keep the onomatopoeia. But aside from that, barely anything else you've mentioned brings down the anime, it had a lot of wonky parts but the quality far outshone some of the failures.

Perhaps. Most people didn't know jack about Phantom Blood before going in, and while it's generally considered the weakest part it picked up a lot of fans with the anime and it was decently received.

Then there is no point, if we are talking about Araki's current art style. Not only is Phantom Blood's art style a part of it's appeal but Araki's art style simply isn't compatible with the way Part 1 was written. Phantom Blood works partially because it is a relic of a long gone era. It's a gothic vampire drama starring macho action superstars with a 80s shonen art-style and fashion designs. It wouldn't be the same.
It's one of the many reasons why, if Araki were to do a modern retelling of Phantom Blood with his new art style and writing, it would suck ass and no one would enjoy it.

Ask yourself this: if Commando or Predator were released today, with the exact same story and characters, but with different actors, updated special effects and a CG monster, would people enjoy it ?
