I dropped it in the Hueco Mundo arc because it got too boring but up to that point at least, there was never any indication Ichigo wanted to be with Rukia and both of them were already attached to the people they ended up with so I admit I have trouble understanding where the idea of the pairing comes from unless it happens later in the series

Ichigo and Rukia was great in early bleach but ichigo became boring and Rukia was bearly in by the end.

The version of bleach where ichigoxrukia was the otp to rule them all died when Rukia decided to stay in SS and bleach inexplicably carried on.
