It's called bad/lazy LN writing. It would take an hour to explain the stupidity of the world, the characters & their decisions... or you could just write it off for what it is: another crappy LN adaptation.

These shows are candy. 100% sugar & bad for you, everyone tells you that it's bad for you, you never feel "good" after eating it, but you do it anyway because it stimulates the part of your brain that craves it.

And for the record, I'm not even hating it for that. If they can make their money, then good for them; they won. But it doesn't make it not shit.
