Kaisar and Nina will be the ones who will ultimately make Charioce realize what he's doing isn't that good idea in the long run. But from there it's only up to Charioce if he decides to change his ways of doing things or he recognizes it's too late.

If you ask me, I liked the idea some anon posted about Charioce pulling off Lelouch at the end and hiding somewhere with Jeanne taking his place as a King (with Kaisar as her right hand who will keep her in check in case she sways too much to the divine side).

Grandma had brain problems with understanding Genesis so she wrote VS to be easy to understand. A lot of the details regarding the story have been predecided by Otsuka and Takenaka who also make script corrections. She was apprehensive about not having a blank slate but they won her over and she enjoyed working with them. She was recomended to them by Ike (composer). She never read manga or watched anime in her youth, live action drama and novels only. The script gains a life on its own after she hands it over and there might be rifts between what she wrote and what transpires on screen. For example the director and voice actor insist on making Azazel like a naughty little boy even though she wrote him to be a man who already reached adulthood and who knows despair. It shocked her at first but they convinced her it's the right way. Cheerios is an unrealistic Gary Stu who is perfect in every way, "those types of men are only in anime". I also get a feeling she unironically likes those flawless, idealized ikemen types. Combined with Allesandro being her favorite it may seem that her taste in men is pretty bad.

Writer-san didn't get what Genesis wanted to convey, so VS is easy to understand, which is understandable because Genesis had no theme or message, or if there was it was in the arc of one or two characters and negated by others (following predetermined destiny for Favaro and Amira, meanwhile Kaisar appeared to be best off not thinking for himself, and Jeanne's arc didn't really comment on anything for someone who has a divine mission).
