Vrains is pretty good and serious stuff so far, I'm enjoying it. It really feels like a spiritual sequel of 5D's, the designs are good, no EGAO shit, Revolver could be as good as Kiryu and the virtual world is similar with MegaMan Battle Network.

I wish they could at least don't forget this is a children's card game commercial show.

The less dueling approach looks like it's being motivated by necessity after how miserable Arc-V's animation looked quite a lot of the time. If they simply can't keep up with the amount of animation required for duels, then cut the duels down and bring in more dialogue episodes.

This episode had jank animation, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been, since it didn't need a lot of motion. I can't even imagine how terrible it would've looked if they shoved a duel on whoever was forced to animate this episode on (presumably) short notice.

I think the idea is to stress the point that VRAINS avatars can look like anything. Basically I think it's supposed to be some sort of visual cue that they've switched to VRAINS because otherwise telling the VR world and the real world apart is tough because they look the same for some reason.

Basically, the viewer knows that when they start seeing weird looking shit like that everywhere it means we're in VRAINS.

Still not sure why they didn't just make the VRAINS world look decidedly different to the real world as that would have been much less confusing and made it instantly apparent which world we were in but whatever.

Think about it logically, most TV shows in a world like the one we've been presented would probably be recorded and broadcast through VR because it would be much cheaper to create a virtual set than a physical one. Dude, there is a giant drop in quality, both in dialogue AND in duels if you watch the dub.
They reduce majority of the talk to silly puns and lose the meaning in the way. The sole exception is Shun, only because his dub VA is a good Shun fan that somehow managed to balance puns and seriousness.

Arc V sucks balls. Uninspired filler duels that are predictable as fuck, no real sense of danger, jobbers gonna job, survival duel is boring as fuck the ninja gets carded nobody cares, but when everyones best friend Crow gets carded it is the end of the world.Seriously the legacy characters were the death of the show. Synchro was way too long.

It starts boring, very boring (quiz guy, food guy) then shit start to happening, partially relevant characters start to "die", traitors killing the main team, brothers swearing revenge, the evil guys showed their power with style and the main plot avatar-like show up, plus the openings gaves us a lot of hype.
And then XYZ happens, a whole season of ten or less episodes and everyone after that became irrelevant, that includes the evil guys.

it never really went anywhere. It hyped up the whole Zarc plot from the beginning and Academia and Yuri too and they all ended up being shit (rip Yurifags). It started at the end of Synchro when they cockblocked the zarc fusion and I believe that was the first episode was a really shit rating on niconico and then it snowballed from there. Everything was shit.
