What is Konami trying to tell us here?
Vrains is pretty good and serious stuff so far, I'm enjoying it. It really feels like a spiritual sequel of 5D's, the designs are good, no EGAO shit, Revolver could be as good as Kiryu and the virtual world is similar with MegaMan Battle Network.
I wish they could at least don't forget this is a children's card game commercial show.
>3 episodes and only one duel
>I wish they could at least don't forget this is a children's card game commercial show.
What the fuck man, that's the best part of Vrains so far. I rather get less duels that are more meaningful in the long run instead of forcing them in every episode. Past series have made the mistake of doing so.
she gives you this look, what do you do?
It seems instead of 2-episode duels, they'll be doing 1-episode plot and 1-episode duels. I like this shift as well, since we already know who's going to win 95% of the time and most of it is just padding.
I remember the first dexcription of VRAINS was about a kid who was shy, didn't liked to stand out and didn't know how to duel. But one day he tries it, gets tons of friends and they all participate in a tournament.
I wonder what happened
So basically after Go we'll get a blue angel duel THEN we'll get Revolver with Yusaku losing basically recreating the first duel between Yuma and Kaito?
Her brother is from the Security, she will get a Cyberse "NetNavi" too,
and she knows about his past.
>Don't like that modern yugioh meta is retarded and games often end in 1 to 2 turns?
>Well suck it faggot, we call them speed duels now.
>Better hope you draw your otk combo on the first turn from now on.
>he wants forced duels in every episode regardless of quality to shill shit filler cards
>instead of fewer duels with better cards that actually become important to the story
People like you is why Arc-V went downhill so fast.
will we ever see something this blatant again?
>Revolver is actually a good boy who wants to save his father(and a bishonen to top it off!)
>Yuusaku had a slight reaction when he heard his name, probably doesn't remember because his "memories were stolen"
Childhood friend confirmed?
Is everyone in Yusaku's family a fucking giraffe?
The dog names are actually quite fitting, considering he's going to start following Yusaku around like a puppy once his purpose as a hostage is fulfilled and Yusaku doesn't need him around any more.
I feel like this is a bad idea, they should be having more duels to keep the kiddies interested considering the failure Arc-V was and this seems like TV ratings suicide. And yes I still think ratings matter regardless of "it exists to promote the card game anyway". I'm not complaining though because this shit is great
The less dueling approach looks like it's being motivated by necessity after how miserable Arc-V's animation looked quite a lot of the time. If they simply can't keep up with the amount of animation required for duels, then cut the duels down and bring in more dialogue episodes.
This episode had jank animation, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been, since it didn't need a lot of motion. I can't even imagine how terrible it would've looked if they shoved a duel on whoever was forced to animate this episode on (presumably) short notice.
Why is there an increasing frequency of character designs that look like they came from 60s gag manga
I think the idea is to stress the point that VRAINS avatars can look like anything. Basically I think it's supposed to be some sort of visual cue that they've switched to VRAINS because otherwise telling the VR world and the real world apart is tough because they look the same for some reason.
Basically, the viewer knows that when they start seeing weird looking shit like that everywhere it means we're in VRAINS.
Still not sure why they didn't just make the VRAINS world look decidedly different to the real world as that would have been much less confusing and made it instantly apparent which world we were in but whatever.
No, that was in VRAINS. The whole comment by the one with the giant face about how Playmaker doesn't show his true identity because he's secretly ugly was a passive aggressive jab at the one that looks like a little girl.
Basically, she was subtly implying that her co-host is ugly in real life, which is why her avatar is a cute little girl. That is why the little girl avatar got offended at that comment.
>No, that was in VRAINS.
I didn't get that at all from the episode though. Regular tv show people were playing and then that came on, there's no reason to believe they're in VR at the time, and there's no point to do that for a talk show. Even the pidgeon/frog reporters inside Link Vrains said it's usually just duelists who hang around there.
Are you just pulling my leg, anon?
To expand, the tv screens and tablets can be linked to VRAINS so you can watch stuff happening in VRAINS without logging in yourself.
Think about it logically, most TV shows in a world like the one we've been presented would probably be recorded and broadcast through VR because it would be much cheaper to create a virtual set than a physical one. Realistically it would really cut down on costs if you could make your entire show virtual while also having the benefit of greater ability to control what happens during the broadcast.
Then what's with this guy who was actually in the real world? He looks like he came out of a Professor Layton game, but would fit right in with the extra cartoony reporters.
Yes it's done, it happened a month or so ago.
The English dub isn't over yet though, it's covered about two thirds of the series so far, which means that even with all the pain dubfags have had to endure so far, the real pain starts now.
Subfags are by and large the worst. I want to watch a show not read a book.
Not arguing with that, the YGO dub has always been ass. Its just difficult to keep up with all the names of the cards and their effects and attack points when its in another language.
Why is there a Pokemon on his head?
so far yugioh vrains has broken status quo without a duel the first episode and a bigger focus on plot were nearing a rival debut so place your bets on why the match will be cancelled before playmaker
loses i bet they'll be forcibly jacked out of vrains before they can end the match for some reason
Dude, there is a giant drop in quality, both in dialogue AND in duels if you watch the dub.
They reduce majority of the talk to silly puns and lose the meaning in the way. The sole exception is Shun, only because his dub VA is a good Shun fan that somehow managed to balance puns and seriousness.
I seriously feel bad for him. The dub workers didn't deserve someone like him and hebdidn't deserve what happened to Shun
Yusaku and Shoichi have such a nice dynamic. I expect a lot of good interactions between them.
I hope he just loses completely if he does. Honestly Arc-V's cut off just before
Yuya loses to Reiji in their first battlepissed me off.
Yuusaku loses to Revolver, Yuusaku goes into a "depressed" state and become edgy for a while, gains hope again due to his friends, yadda yadda gains firewall dragon yadda yadda beats Revolver with it yadda yadda all according to keikaku etc.
The fact that they're making Speed Duels out to be this super cool thing, combined with the fact that Speed Duels are actually simpler than the regular game. Really takes me out of it.
Not even shitting on Duel Links here. But the way they all basically go "Wow! It's simpler and even more basic! How cool!" just doesn't resonate with me.
So "skills" are now the Action Cards of Vrains.
Action cards are worse. A lot of the time Yuya would just summon a shitty monster, end his turn and count on there being an action card around to save his ass. And 99.99% of the time the action cards they found was exactly what they needed. Maybe I'm overly optimistic about it, but skills seems like the lesser of two evils.
You have a point. It's better that they can only have 1 skill too so there's an element of...skill in choosing which one to take.
Although, can you only activate it once per duel?
A level 2 Gouki.
Neat. I still feel like Thunder Ogre should have been a Link 2 monster though. What's even its purpose if not to easily link climb into the Great Ogre?
Hopefully this means we'll be getting more Trickstars too.
Skills are worse because the skill effects are actually really powerful.
Like 90% of action cards consisted of negating single attacks, or preventing single cards from being destroyed once.
But here we have skills that are the equivalent of free pot of greeds and the ability to pull extra deck monsters out of your ass.
Apparently he "knew" all of the things that happened. His past got "stolen" and by past he means his memories I guess.
technically only rediscovered the Pendulum mechanic because the original user was Zarc
Would she be broken in the VRAINS universe?
Not liking it too much so far, it looks way better than arc-V tho
-Skills can be cool if they are stated before the duel but probably are gonna be the new free deus ex
-Duels still feel like lasting 2/3 turns
-Desing are super cliche, even so revolver is somewhat cool but blue angel is aids, she already looks like another female character who can't duel shit
-The focus on the story is nice but the setting doesn't look cool at all, too many super important organizations getting outplayed by a 16yo boy in the first episode
-3D monsters look much better than arc-V but overall the show looks cheaper than arc-V
I'll check till ep 13 or so to give the show sometime to develop but still feels way too far from DM/5Ds
>-Desing are super cliche, even so revolver is somewhat cool but blue angel is aids
You got that in the reverse. Blue Angel is an eyecatching cyber idol. Reminiscent real modern day idol designs but with a cyber twist to her.
Revolver has some absolutely ridiculous mask, has actual bullets as earrings. And look overall silly.
We had Action Cards for everything. Yuya even used one to draw two cards during a riding duel I forgot against who. Compared to that, the fact you can only use a skill ONCE is fine.
Also, Yusaku's skill is the most useless so far. Creating a new extra deck monster out of nowhere has been a common thing since ever, they only explained why he out of all people could do that.
>"moshi moshi darkness desu"
"hello darkness, my old friend"
episode where Blue Angel spends an entire episode trying to figure out the identity of Playermaker only to fail and then in the last minute of the episode drops some shit and Yusaku goes to help pick it up and then episode ends with them walking in opposite directions when?
INTO ZA DRAINS
>Here I think you dropped this
>Yusaku: Hey you're-
>Yuya gives Yusaku LINK WORLD
>Yusaku is literally a Virus upon the human world taken humanoid shape
>he seems a little boring personality wise because he cant adapt
>yfw VRAINS jumps the sharku so AI and Yusaku LINK together to from VRAINMAKER
doujin where wario fucks blue angel and aoi when?
>Yusaku forgets duel disk at school
>wario notices and mentions it but yusaku already left
>somehow accesses playmaker's avatar and goes into link vrains
>Blue angel sees him and somehow they start fucking a ton
>blue angel says she wants to see playmaker irl and fuck irl
>wario starts fucking Aoi irl
Never watch Arc-V
Arc V sucks balls. Uninspired filler duels that are predictable as fuck, no real sense of danger, jobbers gonna job, survival duel is boring as fuck the ninja gets carded nobody cares, but when everyones best friend Crow gets carded it is the end of the world.Seriously the legacy characters were the death of the show. Synchro was way too long.
It starts boring, very boring (quiz guy, food guy) then shit start to happening, partially relevant characters start to "die", traitors killing the main team, brothers swearing revenge, the evil guys showed their power with style and the main plot avatar-like show up, plus the openings gaves us a lot of hype.
And then XYZ happens, a whole season of ten or less episodes and everyone after that became irrelevant, that includes the evil guys.
it never really went anywhere. It hyped up the whole Zarc plot from the beginning and Academia and Yuri too and they all ended up being shit (rip Yurifags). It started at the end of Synchro when they cockblocked the zarc fusion and I believe that was the first episode was a really shit rating on niconico and then it snowballed from there. Everything was shit.
>20 years of YGO down the drain
>episodes got some of the lowest TV ratings in history
>a literal blank screen got better ratings than Arc-V
>massive potential in the beginning, squandered
>Synchro arc painstakingly long and boring
>Xyz arc retardedly short after more jobbing and 4-5 duels of EGAO
>Fusion arc ruined by Battle Beast faggotry
>LITERALLY EVERYONE has to job to Z-Arc, who loses to a colossal asspull that makes Yugi's bullshit look tame
>SO. MUCH. FUCKING. JOBBING.
>post Z-Arc now has Yuya...trying to make a baby smile
>because of the bullshit released during Arc-V, Konami had to go and invent a new mechanic that rendered countless decks
none of the characters changed since episode 50
2/2 Most of Yuya's current "friends" were just some people who saw the power of SMILE WORLDO and wanted to suck his dick.
The ones from first few arcs all but seem to have been forgotten about by him. Remember when he used to care about Sora? And the kids back in Standard? His coach? Or even the lancers in general?
His emotions have 3 settings:
>by the way I'm the devil incarnate suck my pendulum plot armor dick
His dueling never really changes or matures like the other protagonists of past series, (Yugi learns how to be a proper duelist from the pharaoh, Judai becomes less of a show off, Yusei learned to stop always trying to be a lone wolf, Yuma learned to actually play the fucking game). Comparitively, he just learns a new summoning method. That's it.
>Suddenly I'm splashing poly in my deck
>Guess I'll use 2 card pendulum combo to make a rank 4
>Oh I guess I have a tuner now? Maybe I can synCrow
His archetype is considered part of what was the most degenerate deck of the pendulum era, and he still fails to establish a decent board in almost every duel.
Stopped watching Arc V two episodes before the end. Do I keep being a bitch or just suck it up and watch it
>Drink one shot every time someone says Kattobingu
"That word... what was it."
"That guy-! Yuma can't Kattobingu!"
"Hahaha, I have sealed his Kattobingu! Yuma's Kattobingu gave him power, the power of Kattobingu, so I have prevented him from accessing the Kattobingu!"
"Now son, remember to Kattobingu, even after I've abandoned you to go fuck your mother in all of the dimensions"
"No, [One of the few bareable characters in this show], I've regained my Kattobingu! Kattobingu is more than just Kattobingu! It's what makes Me, Me! My Kattobingu will never be stopped!"
"KATTOBINGU DA ORE!"
"HOW COULD THIS BE I SEALED HIS KATTOBINGU"
"YOU CAN'T SEAL THIS KATTOBINGU, NOW HOPE ATTACK THEN I'LL NEGATE AND DOUBLE UP CHANCE GGNORE"
Can someone explain to me what the fuck happened here?
>Sudden revolver comes out and everything is matrix
>Then Yusaku can see him without get INTO THE VRAINS
>then he just disappears
>then everything is real world again
F is for friends who do stuff together! U is for u and me!
Original manga question. What's happening in pic related? I'm particularly stuck on the "looks like a rotten jerk" panel. Is that being said or thought? And if so, who by? I'm at a loss for what this is trying to communicate.
The VR world is basically everywhere in the city. You can't normally sense anything of LINK VRAINS while in the real world, but both Yuusaku and Revolver have the power to sense the VRAINS.
As I said, Jonouchi wanted to make a man out of Yugi, so solving puzzles is not really manly (from Jono's point of view). By "puzzleblocking" Yugi, Jono hoped that he would give up and do something else (like sports for example)
What the fuck is wrong with this faggots? Why do suddenly they want to kick Yuusaku's ass? I can't understand Go but Aoi too? I guess she isn't as soft as I thought she was
I prefer to wait for the inevitable betrayal from Aoi's side. You just know her brother will ask her to help him capture Yuusaku. Then she will realize she was wrong, save him and stay together
Will we ever get a character like him again?
So far Vrains is very similar to Duel Links. Speed Duels, hackers, security banning people, Charisma duelists
Where have I seen this before?
You know what? At first I thought the A.I would be as annoying as those kiddy characters who help the gang in most kids Anime, but so far he is really fun. There's been more comedy in two episodes than in the 149 EPISODES of ARC-V.
Don't forget about me
How badly will the dub meme-ify this?
What would D/D links be like?
>The main deck is classical monsters
>the pendulum scales are scientists
>the extra deck bosses are warlords
>the pendulum bosses are named after end-times and business executives
>Dark Contracts are references to old YGO cards
>support spell and traps are based on DnD
I wonder what they would be named after?
It doesn't, but Vrains just looks cheap or just passable in everything else as well
If you're going to throw up memes constantly, at least try to keep whatever meaning they have left
I'am liking this power Trio thing. Hopefully it stays like this and doesn't become irrelevant like Yuya, Yuzu, Gongenzaka
I wonder what will A.I do to this qt maid robot
They talk about interesting stuff and rarely play a card game, and when they do it it only lasts 1 episode and is filled with more talking and flashbacks. I like it, who seriously keeps playing the physical card game? Just download Duel Links isntead and stop being a complete manchild
IT'S BEEN 3 (THREE) EPISODES AND THERE WAS ONLY 1 (ONE) CARD GAME.
Remember that time when Anzu was about to make love with Yugi?
>you will never impersonate Blue Angel in VRAINS and pleasure old men for trading cards
>wanting to entah dah vurains
This is oesn't even make me smile.
Pic related however, makes me egao. This and Yuya.
What the fuck are you even talking about? Where in Duel Links do you see hackers, banning, and Charisma Duelists? Not to mention the only extra Deck monsters are low-tier Fusion monsters. Extra Monster Zones don't even exist.
>Where in Duel Links do you see hackers, banning, and Charisma Duelists?
Do you even play or keep up with the news of the game?
>Hackers: Some people are using Hacked APK's that give you unlimited points and free wins in PVP.
>Banning : Konami has been tracking down this people and deleting their accounts.
>Charisma Duelists: Konami has contacted popular YouTubers to shill the game.
worst villain in the series thus far. Who knew a cowboy would cause the destruction of the world. But seriously he came off as a saturday morning cartoon villain, and was very 2 dimensional characterwise. Instead of showing flashbacks from Zarc's perspective, we got a bunch of pointless fillers like Battlebeast (BB) and the pirate shit
Help, I have an urge to lick all over Aoi's body from her feets to her pussy
Rank the protagonists from worst to best:
1. Judai Yuki
2. Yugi Mutou
3. Yusei Fudo
4. Yuusaku Fujiki
5. Yuma Tsukumo
6. Yuuya Sakaki
Every Yu-Gi-Oh show has had romance though
Yugi liked Anzu too but for the others yeah, they stayed one sided for almost all the course of the series except for Zexal, ARC-V and 5DS were it was implied that would change in the future.
Best Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist there will ever be
The first shows had almost 200 episodes but now is between 140-150.
I can't believe we are getting 150 episodes of VRAINS with 6 OP's and 6 ED's. This coming years will be fun.
And hopefully it stays good.
Oh well, at least I like it unlike ARC-V first OP. That song and visuals were a living nightmare
I was expecting the use of Speed Duels to ruin it. Then I realized most anime duels rarely have more than three monsters on the field at a time anyway.
Still hoping we get some Master Duels eventually though.
We probably will. Speed Duels were kind of new implementations and also it's hard to see someone summon most powerful links with only three zones. Hell, Firewall Dragon (link 4) needs a link monster in first place to be summoned just for that in Speed DUels
I just binged the last 3 episodes of Arc-V so I can finally start Vrains and get caught up. I couldn't stop cringing at the only thing keeping Yuya from getting BTFO was plot armor comprised of action card spam and the other Yu's.
Now to wash away Arc-V with Vrains and alcohol. Hopefully Yusaku delivers the way we need him to.
Synchro was hardly what "killed" Arc-V. The XYZ arc was 5 episodes of Yuya egao-brainwashing everybody. The Fusion arc was stupid filler after stupid filler (pirates, BB, towers, parasites). The Zarc duel(s) were incredibly underwhelming because everybody was forced to job. Then you have the final end plot: making an ugly ass baby cry. Yuya probably had the most underwhelming final duel in all of Yugioh.
I hope we get some fun slice of life filler episodes, Arc-v didn't get any, so the characters felt less alive.
>can't remember what happened to himself under the influence of the mask
>can't read/ignores his sister's feeling and motivations and tries to force idolfaggotry on her
>can't read his best friend kaiser's motivations or tell that hes not evil
>only thing that happens to him in 3rd saga is him being sacrifice fodder
>yubel doesn't even recognize him as being apart of the evil he supposed to defeat
>throwaway pretty boy
>clearly supposed to be some sort of redux of bakura, but it didn't go as planned
>all his wins happen in the most insignificant ways: offscreen brainwashed, in a flashback against his sister, and in his FUCKING DREAMS
>his whole deck is based off of jonouchi's ace monster
>when he gets his memories back it reveals nothing the audience didn't know
>his relationship with his sister is that she worries about him
I think hes the most mishandled character in this franchise.
1. Yusei Fudo
2. Yugi Muto
3. Yuya Sakaki
4. Judai Yuki
5. Yusaku Fujiki (Need to see more, but so far he's growing on me.)
6. Yuma Tsukumo
>Aoi's father says "duelist no ouja", champion of duelists
>they're clearly trying to make a reference to "King of Duelists" without outright saying it
>Mono outright translates that to king of duelists
vrains is definitely going to be another failure at this rate. 5Ds didnt do well in Japan either and this is the vibe Im getting from Vrains. They keep this no dueling shit up and the game will also die.
>three piles in the hanoi
>three reasons catchphrase
Have you heard!? Speed Duels only have 3 (three) MZs/STs instead of 5!
Isn't that fucking awesome! And you start the game with one less card your in hand too!
How did I ever even stomach playing the game with a whole 5 zones each together with 5 cards in hand? Disgusting was what it was!
Speed Duels for life!
Welcome to Speed Basketball! We removed one of the two baskets, and now players have to have one of their arms tied behind their backs!
Regular Basketball is finished! Speed Basketball is the future!
3x2 just feels right.
Adds a bit more thought into what you're going to place down instead of just placing everything down.
The perfect format is Duel Links mixed with a master rules such as starting life points and deck sizes.
>Tries to Google Reverse it just to find the artist
>Best guess for the pic is "woman"
Anon, he had his hand shoved in her pussy. You expected her to stand still under that stimulation?
/INTO THE VRAINS/
It's /a/ sings time again, this time we're doing with the wind (Vrains OP1)
The deadline is the 15th of June and all submissions should only be your vocals (no backing) make sure you're on beat or on pitch (both is optimal, but just one is fine)
If it's too low or high change it by 3,5 or 8 semi tones depending on how drastic you need to change it (this is easily done in audacity) and feel free to record a harmony track to go along with it (on a separate file)
Send submissions to: [email protected]
This, Yusaku basically raped her in front of all the world. I'm surprised she isn't a Beta like i thought she would be because she looks soft
